As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. Can you give me the ins and outs of flying Southwest w/Loela?
I'm planning my Spring Break trip home, I just cannot do a road trip again with just her and I.
I will need to take her carseat of course so what does that count toward....if anything? Or will I need to pay to have it checked.

This link should answer any questions you may have. Are you taking the infant seat or the convertible? Both can be gate checked and will not count towards anything if you check it at the airplane door. If you check it at the ticket counter, it will count it as one of your checked items.
Like Gerrie said, you get to check 2 items for free. Here is a quote straight from the site:
Does an infant or child safety seat count as baggage?
Two (2) items of travel equipment for infants and small children, such as walkers, child safety seats or collapsible playpens, may be checked and transported in substitution of one piece of the free baggage allowance for each fare-paying passenger at no charge.

Yes I will be taking the convertible. Not unless Granny goes out and buys that too.
I'm still trying to decide if I keep her in my lap (so that she doesn't act crazy ) or purchase a seat for her.
Granny can get the Cosco Scenera pretty cheap. But I think it only goes to 40lbs forward facing.
IMO, I would just hold her and hope there is an empty seat to use if the flight is not full.
