Making friends?
I just got married five months ago and moved to Ventura County for a job in Malibu, CA. I don't know anyone out here and neither does my husband - we are originally from the Inland Empire. I love my co-workers but they are single girls who have pretty busy lives so we never hang out outside of work. Does anyone have any recommendations on how/where to make some friends???

To answer OP, it's definitely a matter of finding hobbies in common or going to wine tastings, lectures, and other things that interest you.
I've made friends at my pilates classes and from joining a book club, but most of the people I've met are work related.
Is there a networking night for your line of work? Or alumni association?
