So, I just stalked your blog and followed you -- Yep, I'm your creepy new follower. And:
a) LOVE George Rodrique. One of my best friends hooked up with his son... not sure if that contributed to the fact that she has a huge Blue Dog hanging above her fireplace
b) I'm so glad you said you actually like the Miley + Max. I've been to scared to admit it -- well, I've been to scared to do anything else but side-eye it as I speed walk past it so I can get to a shower to wash the Wal Mart filth off of me.
Re: *samantha*
awesome!
Feorge Rodrigue is phenomenal. He'd always been my fav and when i was getting ready to graduate from UL with a degree in Studio Art and one in Art History, I got a handwritten letter from him congratulating me on my graduation, thanking me for being a fan, and words of encouragement for my future plus a signed copy of one of his books, made out to me. I couldn't believe it. Turns out, my mom sent him a letter explaining how I'd been following his work for years, etc etc. I couldn't believe it. About five years later, I sent him a note asking if he remembered me (I had sent him a thank you note right after graduation) and explaining to him the event that I plan every year here in Louisville that's a fundraiser for breast cancer and asked him if he would be willing to donate anything. He called me personally, put me in touch with his assistant, and he sent us every one of his published books, signed, and a poster from his Cajuns, Bluedogs and Beyond Katrina tour. So nice.
I'm typically terrified to walk in to a Wal Mart, but had to for some reason or another. So imagine my surprise when I found something I actually wanted to purchase. I almost didn't just because it was from Wal Mart, but then I figured I was being way snotty and I should buy it because I like it. I've gotten a ton of compliments on it, too.
