I was asked by a friend to recommend some vendors to her for her wedding. I have a few I hated, and a lot I loved. I know there were a few that were crazy vendors but I cant remember- its been so long since I have had to check that stuff out. Anyone have any wedding vendors that you absolutely hated, and would recommend stay away from? And ones you loved?
Re: wedding vendors?
I loved all my vendors:
Day of Coordinator: Cincy Event Planning
Flowers: It's All in the Details - Kym Sumner
Cake: Marilyn's Cakes
Reception: The Madison
Dresses: David's Kenwood
Tuxes: Skeffington's
DJ: TriState Entertainment -Bill Datillo
I can't think of the others but if you want more info feel free to email me at princesspeah at gmail dot com
I also didn't have any I hated, but I have some that I suggest highly!!
Reception: The Madison... I cannot rave enough about them!! Their pricing is very comparable and their service is unbeatable!
Cakes: Tres' Belle Bakery....Outstanding!
Flowers: Amelia Florist.... they beat my other 3 quotes by over $800.00 and I was extremely happy with the finished product.
Pictures: I used a friend, but my sister and a good friend both used Sara Streit for their pictures and I wish I would have found her sooner for my wedding! I love their pictures!! She's a nestie also and has a blog, check her out!
Dresses: Everyone got dresses from Bridal and Formal for my wedding and I didn't have any issues with them at all. Some people say they feel as if they are too busy but I think as long as you go on a weekday or week night you will get the attention you want from them!
Officiant: We used Stephen Hoffman and so did my sister for her wedding. His rates are comparable and he is soooo funny!
I had some awesome vendors for my wedding!!!
DOC = Cincy Event Planning
DJ = Brian Childs (I also had a musician but she's a nestie and I'm not comfortable putting her name up without her say so. She was planning her wedding just before I was, which is why she was on theknot.)
Caterer: R.S.V.P.
Photos: Michael Bambino & Co. (Expensive but worth EVERY penny! I don't photograph well at all and somehow out of 800 shots - I seem to look great in all of them.)
BM Dresses: Carie Karibou in Reading
I got married in a park and we had some problems with the park board dragging their feet on getting us some final contracts and approvals. I finally had to show up in their office with my checkbook in hand and get pushy to get things done.
I wasn't that thrilled with my flowers - Hyde Park Floral & Garden. They were beautiful, but there was some confusion regarding delivery v. picking them up and my H ended up picking up all of them and leaving them in the limo for us. I also feel like I overpaid for them.
I totally understand ladies. There are a lot of big mouths on the boards- some of which are nesties who tattle back to the vendors-lame. I too had a crazy vendor stalk the boards and harass/threaten to sue me (I posted a negative review on them which um hello I had proof in pictures, and they wanted to sue ME- HA! It never happened).
I could be wrong, but didn't TK change the vendor review rules? As in, you can give a negative review now b/c the vendor has a right to post a rebuttal under a vendor screenname?
My vendors were awesome
I think the link is still in my siggy... if it's not, I'll fix it pronto
I have reviews of all my vendors in my married bio. I loved everyone but my calligrapher, and I still loved her work, just not the service she provided.
And, yes, the Knot/Nest did just recently change their policies. You can post negative reviews, and then the vendor can contact the Knot with a response, which the Knot will post for them. Vendors are still not allowed to post themselves, however.
