Boudoir Session

For those of you who have done a boudoir session, what do you do with the pictures? It is something that I have considered doing, just don't have a flipping clue as to what do to do with the pics. I know my DH loves me and thinks i am hot and sexy, but i don't think he wants an 8X10 pic of me in lingerie floating around the house. (Let alone if anyone else saw them, his family Embarrassed). Do you just give him the proofs?

Any suggestions?

TIA!!!!!!

Re: Boudoir Session

  • I made a mypublisher book out of them (I figured I wouldn't have to see the people who made my book since I was ordering it off the internet vs. picking it up at the store like Walmart).  He keeps it on his nightstand.  I also gave the CD to DH to view the rest of them.  I've seen others print 1 or 2 of them out and hang them in their bedroom - nothing too vulgar of course =)
    Married 6/10/09 in Bermuda.
  • i haven't done them, but am thinking of doing them for our first anniversary. the girls on my club board who did them got books made, too. are you looking into any particular photographers?
  • Haven't gotten to the point where I am looking for a photographer yet. I am trying to figure out what to do with the pictures after I have them taken. Would be silly to go through all of that and spend all that money not knowing what I am going to do with them.

  • There are several ladies on here who used Scott Chuch

My one friend had hers made into a calender for her Dh who was in Iraq so she didn't do any fully nude since she knew others would be viewing the pictures.

  • If my rear wasn't so big I would consider doing it so I would have a memory of how good i lookedWink

I had showed H a book that a friend did (yes she knew and it was tasteful) and he could not figure out why someone would do that.  So my H would not appreciate it... H's aunt and uncle have a HUGE picture of them in their bedroom hanging over their bed and it is totally gross, NO one else appreciates it.

  • I chose several pics that I liked the best and made a book for DH.  He keeps it in his nightstand.  I also gave him the website info so he could check out all the pics.

I know that mine would. (At least I think he would) He is into classic pin up girls. So, I would go for more of a pin up girl type shoot.

  • ohh... that would be awesome to do the "classic pin-up"!!  A MoM friend who lives in another state did this and they came out awesome!  Very classy... have fun with that
  • For some reason this post made me LOL.  I never really stopped to think about what the recipient actually does with the pictures.  I think the photobook for the nightstand is a nice idea.  I also knew a girl who had a calendar made.  But really, I wonder what her husband did with it!  It probably seemed like a great idea- "Merry Christmas Honey!  Here's a calender of hot pictures of me!" - but I wonder where that calender is now.  Maybe he has a man room or something.  Heehee.  I don't know why this struck me as such a funny question, but I'm still giggling a little.  It's been a long week :)
  • Rather than a boudoir session, you could do a starlet session.  Most of the women I know that did either of them, just made a book and gave it to their FI/H.  Also none of the pics were completely nude, unlike some pics I've seen posted online, so it wouldn't be horrible if anyone accidently saw the book.

I am glad that i could make you laugh. My fear is that even if there is a man room, I don't want my FIL or BIL seeing me in lingerie. I would NEVER be able to look at them ever again!

That is a really cool idea too! I was looking at that site and I think the direction I want to go is a halfway between the starlet and the boudior. Anyone know if that is possible?

Those pictures are really cute!  That looks like fun.  I don't see why doing something halfway between that and boudoir would be hard. Talk to your photographer and tell them what your looking for.  Most photographers I've ever known have been really happy to try something a little different.

On a side note, I want to know where in Wildwood that sign is!  I used to go there all the time and I don't remember ever seeing it.

It's in the parking area near the Convention Center near the Stardust hotel.

Cool thanks!  I used to go to Wildwood with my family every year. I haven't been there since I was in high school but I keep telling DH that we need to go for a weekend.  Maybe we'll actually do it this year.  I'll have to keep an eye out for that sign :)
