You guys are never going to believe this crap.

We have to move (AGAIN).  This apartment has just not worked out at all!  We live at the epicenter of weird and loud in Park Slope.  Seriously anything odd or sketchy or noisy happens it happens directly in front of our building.  If one more freaking thing ruins one of B.'s naps I may literally need to be committed.  But the cherry on top is that we are somehow, mysteriously getting cig. smoke in B.'s room!  It is a nightmare.  I can't believe we have to move again, but at least the LL is  just letting us break the lease.  Anyone remember my unpacking of one box a day this summer :(

sucks.

Re: You guys are never going to believe this crap.

  • ugh! that does suck! moving sucks no matter what but i could not imagine having to do it with a four month old. hope you find a better place really soon!

  • Yuck.  I am so sorry.  But I can understand wanting to be in a place free of noise, cigarette smoke, and general ruckus.  It's great that you are able to break your lease.  What a pain in the ass, though.  Hopefully, you find someplace better soon.  Maybe the off-season will get you a place that's cheaper too.
  • I'm sorry to hear this.  Good luck finding a fabulous place.

  • Oh no! I'm so sorry you have to move again, especially with a 4-month-old kiddo, I can't even imagine (which is partially why we're not attempting right now). Good luck! I'm glad your LL is being so understanding though!... And just think, B will nap so much better once you move, I do know how much a day without naps sucks!
  • I can't even believe you have to move again. GL!

  • Oh No!!! That royally sucks - but I totally get the loud/noisy problems. Our corner is horn honking central, which I can imagine might be awful once the baby arrives. So we might be moving just like you in June/July.

Thankfully you are able to break your lease - are you going to try and stay in the neighborhood?

  • Moving again? That is crap-tastic but having lived in an apartment where cig smoke wafts through the vents, it is definitely worth packing up and leaving!

I hope you find a great apartment pretty soon!

  • Liz- yes we are going to stay in the slope.  Actually we may have found a place through psp, but it isn't available until April.  So nutty people that we are, we might get a sublet until that place is available and put our stuff in storage.  It would help us to avoid a brokers fee (which we just paid this summer, another one would suck).  Hooray for the mommy mafia!

So yes it sucks a lot, but it might be working out for us.  plus one of dh's unemployed friends said that he would help pack.

  • That's really really great - PSP has really been my best friend recently, I've scored a bunch of great baby/maternity/nursing clothes gear through it and tomorrow we are going to look at a portable washer/dryer someone has for sale! cool!

I hope that your whole situation works out - yea it might be a little crazy to do a sublet - but if its better to wait for a place you really love, go for it. and yea, 2 years later, we're really hoping to avoid the brokers fee if we end up moving again.
