@ what month does baby stuff go on sale?
I'm 12 weeks pregnant and my DH and I are planners. We like to plan things out. This child was very much planned. In order to save the maximum amount of money on baby items (yes, we are going to consignment stores) that we want new, I need to know what month typically that baby items go on sale.
TIA
Re: @ what month does baby stuff go on sale?
Every month?
Just keep shopping clearance racks.
I don't know if there is a specific month, but if you have a Buy Buy Baby near you they take Bed Bath and Beyond 20% off coupons and all competitor coupons. I buy a lot of stuff for my neice there and never without a coupon!
Yup. This.
We swing by the clearance racks at Target every time we go.
Baby Items...never go on sale at a particular time of year, they just appear from time to time.
Consignment Stores - Go regularly. The good items leave almost immediately. We got a brand new crib (came off a target truck that got totaled in an accident - they donated all the stuff to the good will) for 1/2 the price it would've been. Still brand new, still in box.

Consignment Sales have been my best friend. We have about 6-8 of them in our area a year and I attend every single one of them. I'm in line an hour early and I take my laundry basket to hold stuff. If you don't get into these sales right away and know what you're looking for you'll miss the good deals to those of us (like me) who know what we want and are ready! Check out the newspaper and cragislist ads in your area.
Garage sales - those are huge. We've found some great, gently used items there. We go EVERY Saturday from 6:30am-9:00am from March 1st to October 1st. We have our list of items we need and off we go. We research a head of time what we want, so we don't bring home something we don't need. We also negotiate.
Craigslist or other online ads like that. Every once in awhile I'll get a big trashbag of clothes for 15 dollars. Or 20.00 dollar toys for 1 dollar a piece. IT's like a game for me, what can I find??
Get on mailing lists. You'll get coupons mailed to you and special one day deals you may have missed.
Start bringing home a thing of diapers everytime you go out, you have no idea how fast you'll go through those!
Right now, you should be able to get winter stuff on all the clearance racks. I'd be careful about about buying too much though, kids grow at different rates. At the end of each season is when those clothes will go on clearance.
Good luck!
When I worked at Sears, they had a thing called Baby Days - it was in the spring, maybe May where everything went on sale. (furniture, strollers, etc)
