Anyone have any? I spend a lot of time on the Health & Fitness board on TN but I feel closer to you girls. Here's mine (with my story)....share yours too! Let's motivate each other!
In October I joined a Biggest Loser Challenge at a local gym. It was 12 weeks and I hoped it would just give me a kick in the butt because I hated exercise. While the overall goal of the competition was to lose weight (and win $500), as I worked out and became stronger, my individual goal became to lose as much body fat as I could. After all, that number on the scale is simply that - a number. Getting my body fat to a reasonable level was more important. So, in 12 weeks, I dropped 5% of my fat.
The last weigh in was the day before Thanksgiving and I haven't stepped on the scale since, but I've still been working out. I do a strength training class 2-3x per week (Body Pump ROCKS!!!) and am training for my second Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. My food intake was a little shaky the last 2 weeks of December, but that's to be expected - I won't beat myself up over it.
Tomorrow I step on the scale and the InBody machine again and see where my body fat is now. I'm hoping to be down even more....fingers are crossed! A new challenge starts Monday at the gym - this one is to try and attend 24 classes in 6 weeks. If you do, you go into a drawing for a 3, 6, or 12 month membership). I want my body fat to be in the low 20% range by mid-year.....that's my biggest goal!
Re: 2010 Fitness Goals
Good for you!
My 2010 Fitness goal is to do a figure competition in July. The last time I got my body fat measured I was in about the 20-22% range - I need to get down closer to 12-15% for competition. These are based on caliper tests which are not nearly as accurate as the dunk test.
I'm going to try and take pics this weekend or next and start blogging my journey - this will be the biggest challenge I have put myself through physically of my life.
My fitness goals are to get back into "wedding shape." I've lost alot of my baby weight, but everything is squishy and out of place.
I'm going to slowly start back with Pilates and get my core muscles back before I start running again. While I'm doing that we'll walk with my dog outside or if it's too cold we'll go to the indoor track where they allow strollers.
In March there is a baby bootcamp starting that I'm interested in taking.
My brother is getting married in July, so we'll be spending two weeks in the gorgeous Okanagan so I'd like to be able to feel comfortable in a bathing suit by then.

WOW....just....wow! Amazing. I'd love to follow your journey. Keep us posted!
All this talk is inspiring! It's good timing too, because my skinny H has packed on a few pounds in the past 6 months and has been SUCH a whiny baby about it. He loves doing the morning gym thing so he's starting up again on Monday, and I have no excuse not to go with him.
I don't have any specific goals for myself at the moment other than to just get back into the routine. Once I'm into it for a while I absolutely love it! I notice a dramatic difference in how I feel during the day. Just gotta get back on that wagon....
My 2010 fitness goals are to just do something! Since the wedding I have done nothing...nothing and since my stress levels an anxiety are more prominent now I know getting back to working out is a must to help relieve this. I just purchased a treadmill which should be delivered soon and I plan on walking on it every morning before work. Then I plan to work on being able to start running on it. I have never been a runner so that will be a nice goal for me.
I'm going to repaint the workout room this weekend and blow up and hang Hawaii pics in there for some motivation and inspiration

My goal is to lose the baby weight quickly and get back into shape. I'm thinking about doing a half marathon in the fall, but getting back into running shape after so many years off is kind of daunting. I should probably just register for one because spending the money on the entry fee will motivate me to just do it.
Realistically, I'll be happy to just do something at least 3x/week. Anything. Even just walk the dog.
I just made this collage and put it on the inside of my pantry door to remind me of my goals. Right in the middle, the girl with the sword is my friend Monique who won the Contra Costa Figure 2009 competition.
You go girl! I have two co-workers who have done figure competitions and all they eat is egg whites, chicken and broccoli. I couldn't do it, but they looked freakin' amazing for the competition.
This is great! I have quite a few goals for fitness in general...I would like to run another half marathon this year. Also, I would like to become a Level 1 CrossFit trainer. Lastly, I want to get a 100 on my Air Force physical fitness test.
Mainly I give myself shorter terms goals such as doing more handstand push ups in a row, finally master double unders (a jump rope thing), do more pull-ups in a row, etc.
The main thing - which has been a lifelong problem - I want to get my diet healthier. I work hard in the gym but until I get my eating habits under control, it won't show as much as it should.
How exciting! Will you post the blog link when it's up? I'm trying to get back in shape too (similar body comp goals as you but I don't plan to enter a contest just yet). MH is helping me but it would be great to have a female role model!
