We don't have any nesties who have adopted on here do we?
I've been lurking on the bump adoption board for a few months and have yet to come across a Canadian poster. ?
If we have any lurkers over here, it's time to come out of the woodwork!?
Re: We don't have any nesties who have adopted on here do we?
There's an adoption board? Shows how far I stray from this board
I am child-free, but my very close friend adopted internationally after having 2 domestic adpotions fall through. It's a tough process.
Good luck! ?
Are you doing CAS, Private or International??
Through an agency in Alberta we are planning on doing a domestic adoption. Bye bye money, hello 2-5 year wait!
Have you done your homestudy & PRIDE training? ?If yes, how was that?
Fingers crossed for a quick match for you guys.
?
We are looking at potential CAS or International (USA, Korea or South Africa)... but haven't begun anything yet. ?Our first info session is the week after next.
?
butting in - but a good friend out in AB adopted and her daughter was born exactly 1 year to the week they put in their papers for adoption. They connected with the mother when she was about 4- 5 months pregnant, so they knew their baby was coming for a good part of the year too.
I hope you luck out with a match that quickly too Aimes (and you too Dolly!)
No, we havent started yet. We have the application, I have researched my face off.. but didn't want to do the homestudy until we are settled in our new house in the spring (yes... we are moving again!!)
I hope your session goes well!
Shannon- thats great to hear that it only took 1 year!!
Hi I am in the beginning stages of researching adoption and I have posted on the adoption board too.
We haven't exactally decided what route to go. We would like a child under 2 years old.
Does anyone have any advise on what to expect?
