Loestrin 24 Fe

My OBGYN prescribed this to me today. I do not know too much about it. Have any of you used Loestrin 24 Fe?

Re: Loestrin 24 Fe

  • I just switched from Yaz to lo estrin 2 months ago and absolutely love it...still have irregular periods tho :-/ supposedly they become regular after a few months.  Make sure to get the $24/month coupon from your doctor if you don't have it and if your insurance doesn't cover it (mine doesn't)
  • I have been on the generic form of this for 2 months and have had no problems. My periods have been regular and I haven't had any breakthrough bleeding. I do get a little more crampy than I did on other pills though.

  • Hi, I have been on the generic brand for about two years now. I don't have any bad side effects unless I take it without some food, (in which case I do get nausea).

Other than that, my periods had decreased in flow and in length - maybe three days. I have no complaints. :)

  • I just got off...

I had some really bad side effects (weight gain-like crazy, mood swings, NO sex drive whatsoever ect.).

  • I've been taking this for about 3 days-also got switched from the Yaz because of the terrible mood swings it gave me. Generally, I think BC is going to mess with mood regardless, but hopefully this one is tolerable.
  • I actually just picked up a new prescription today because I did not like Loestrin. This is my 4th month on it, and I've had a lot of issues with spotting and irregular periods. They do say that that can happen in the first 1-3 months, but it happened again in the 4th month and I called my doctor and she switched me to Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. So we shall see how that works. I had a friend start Loestrin 24 Fe around the same time as I did and she didnt experience half the stuff I did, so I guess it shows everyones different.
