Vegas Question

Hi Girls!

I'm planning a surprise 30th birthday bash for MH in Vegas! So excited!

I'm not sure how many people are attending yet, but I'm planning to book a nice suite to have a party in. The reason that I'm looking in to this so early is b/c MH's birthday is 7/6 so we need to book on 4th of July weekend...may fill up quickly.

My questions are:

(1) When do they celebrate the fourth in Vegas?

I remember going during this time when I was younger and fireworks going off on the night of the third, leading into the fourth. We always have celebrate on the night of the fourth...so I'm not sure exactly when its celebrated Vegas-style.

(2) Any suggestions on places?

I've looked at Wynn, Palms (too expensive!!), and the Venetian...but have never stayed at those places. I've always stayed at Mandalay.

(3) Any other party-planning suggestions? Deals?

Re: Vegas Question

  • I don't know about the fireworks because we've never actually watched any for the 4th but as for hotels...I LOOOOOOOVE Wynn.  I think it's my fave.  The rooms are so nice!  The Venetian rooms are nice, too, and they're all suites so they're bigger and you'd have more room to party in the room.  So I guess I'd say go with Venetian.

  • of the hotels you mentioned, i've been to the Venetian and thought it was really nice.  can't offer much more advice though.... but make sure your DH eats at the buffet at the bellagio!! and here's a tip..find out what time lunch ends and go just before lunch ends...then he'll get to eat the lunch food AND the nicer dinner food when they switch over but he only has to pay the lunch price ;)
  • Oooh nice tip Jaime!

    Thanks for the input C!

Has anyone stayed at Aria? Looks like its pretty new...and nice!

  • Aria just opened a few months ago so it is really new but I haven't stayed there before. But since it's related to Bellagio, I think it should be really nice. My favorite suites are at the Bellagio, although Caesar's has nice suites also. The Venetian rooms are already mini-suites, so if you're looking for bang-for-the-buck, it would give you more space for the party vs a standard room at another resort, but if you want a larger suite, my vote is still with the Bellagio...actually since you've been to Mandalay Bay before, if you want to go there again, their suites were also pretty nice.

As for fireworks, I know they have them on 4th of July (at least 2 years ago, they did). I can't remember if they also had it on the 3rd or not..
