Well, 2 interviews down and 1 to go. I thought the interview went pretty well - I wasn't too nervous, we had good rapport, etc, however I didn't get much chance to talk about my successes and the things that have gone well. She wanted to know all about what things haven't gone well, and what I've done/will do. I think I gave good answers, but I don't like that it was such a negative focus. And I found out that 2 other people from my company have now applied for the job, so there is only a 30%ish chance that I'll get the job. I don't know who the other 2 are, but it's likely that they have more experience than I do.
Anyway, they told me that they won't be making a decision for at least a week. Yay.
My weekend is shot. Just call me Debbie Downer.
Re: Interview :(
No, there is a 90% CHANCE because you are so awesome. (I allocated 10% for their possible stupidity). I'll be crossing my fingers for you, lady!
My fingers and toes will still be crossed for you anyway because you're awesome!
LOL - thank you!
You girls are the best!
This this this!
Can you send her an email describing these things? Or ask for a follow-up call with a bogus question and then bring these successes up.
I wouldn't leave it to chance.
Agreed!
Ditto all the pp! I'm sure you did fabulous!!!
Not really, but I do have my third and last interview on Monday, and it is with the lady who would be my direct boss (the lady today is HER boss). They are going to compare notes on candidates before reaching a decision, and I have a feeling that the next interview will more closely follow the interview guide, which today's did not. The RVP told me that she doesn't like to use them. But the reason they have them is so that you ask each candidate the same set of questions so it's fair when you're comparing them. Argh. The good thing is that I am doing my third interview on the phone, so I will have a list of the things that I want to bring up sitting in front of me, and I should have a chance to talk about them then. Ultimately, the RVP just has to approve the RD's decision, since I will be the RD's direct employee. Hope that makes sense. . .Anyway, it does leave me some hope!
So if I read correctly, this lady didn't know what she was doing really and your next interview is super important b/c you'd be reporting directly to this lady?
Either way, I KNOW you will rock it, and things truly do happen for a reason. Just trust that things will align the way they should for you - if this was all an exercise in futility, it was probably for the best. If it works out, it was meant to work out!
We'll all be sending you tons of interview vibes on Monday!
This lady knew what she was doing, but she's sort of "above" having to use the interview guide. But yes, the lady tomorrow is the big one, because she would be my direct boss.
Thank you for all the good wishes ladies! I will report again on Monday afternoon (evening, for most of you), likely with additional angst :P.
