I have been having problems with pain during sex and after trying various things my doc has suggested putting me on neurontin. It is an antiepileptic drug that is supposed to dull the nerve endings, thus stopping the pain. Just curious if anyone else has tried this. TIA
Re: Neurontin?
I've been on it for 11yrs now (300mg a day). I take it due to nystagmus in my eyes which is caused by Arnold Chiari Malformation type I. Yes, it's an anti seizure drug but it can be uses for many different types of ailments.
What is it you want to know about it?
I can tell you there are very few side effects and it doesn't interact/interfear with other medications.

I'm on 900mg a day, and I do have to say that it helps with the sharp shooting pains I get all over my body. Can't say whether it'll have an effect on the type of pain you're describing, but I say go for it. I don't have any side effects, and there's no withdrawal or curve with going on or off it. Give it a shot!
Oh, and have him write the script for the generic, Gabapentin. It costs $10 at the pharmacy for a 30 day supply of 900mg/day, or $4 for a 30 day supply of 300mg.
