Lethbridge Area nesties?

DH lived in AB for 6 months before we were together and would love to move to the Lethbridge area.  I imagine if a job came up we would end up moving in a heartbeat.  We know several families out there so thankfully it wouldn't be moving to a completely new area but still scary.  I've lived within 10 minutes of our current location my entire life (Southern Ontario).

Anyway, just wanted you to tell me all of the great reasons to move to your area so I can add things to look forward to to my list : )

Re: Lethbridge Area nesties?

  • Are you a Mormon by any chance?

I ask because we have family friends who live in Lethbridge there who love it. They are Mormons and have found a HUGE church community out there. Tons of activities and support, they really love it (moved out there from ON as well).

I've only been out to visit once for an afternoon so I don't know much about the place, but they all adore it.  Good luck with the move if you go for it!

  • I used to live in Lethbridge and still know A LOT of people there. We probably go to Lethbridge at least once a month even though we now live across the border in BC. I loved Lethbridge when I lived there.  I found it had a smaller town/city feel. My favorite areas that I would recommend living in are the west end across whoop up drive and the south end that is newly developing by the college.  They are family friendly and safe. Lethbridge gets almost dessert warm in the summer with the canyon that is beautiful and usually isnt that bad int he winter because of the chinooks in the area. Like triple777 said above, Lethbridge is highly mormon as the town of cardston with the temples is also very close. I found it to be friendly and actually would consider moving back there in the future! If you have any other questions feel free to ask! Good luck with the possible move :)
  • I used to live in Lethbridge as well.  I would agree it's a decent city.  However, I personally didn't like it because if you looked west you could see the mountains and if you looked east you could see the prairies.  I wished it would make up it's mind...  Just my personal opinion.

By the way, if you plan on attending a Christian church, I went to the Evangelical Free when I lived there.

I also went to River of Life :)

  • We're not mormon, we're christian and have a church in mind already where our friends attend.  More interested in the south lethbridge area, Raymond,  etc.  Thanks for your comments!

  • I live in Lethbridge and I love it. We moved here from Calgary to get out of the big city. I love Lethbridge because it has all the ammenities of a big city but has a small town feel. It is a very welcoming, quiet, safe place to live. There are many wonderful family friendly activities as well. It's nice and hot in the summer too which is great.
