We're moving back to DALLAS!!!

My hubby is soooo excited because we're moving back to Dallas (he's orginally from there, but I'm a buckeye from Ohio), but I'm a little sad because we've built up a home in TN and we've depended on each other because that's all we had. Now that we are moving back, I'll be left in the boat all by myself. His entire family is in the DFW area and it's better for our daughter to grow up around family. So this is a sacrifice that I'm making for him and her. I'm just afraid to start over again. Please offer any encouraging words, tips on what's hot, anything!

Thanks!

  • What part of the metroplex are you guys moving to, or do you know yet?  I love Dallas.  I honestly can't imagine myself living anywhere else.

    Ditto!

  • How exciting!!! I can understand your mixed feelings about moving, moving in itself can get stressful!!!!  I moved here from Kansas City and we love it here.  We do miss our friends and family back "home" but Dallas has so many great things to offer.  Plus, with your DH's family and friends being here already it won't be as hard as your first move, and will be so much more enjoyable!!!
  • I totally understand your feelings. I?m from Ireland and living in Dallas about 10 minutes from DH?s parents and not too far from his sibs. As he?s the oldest and first to marry, have kids etc. it?s been a huge learning curve regarding expectations and boundaries... theirs more than anything :( That being said, Dallas is a nice place to live and raise a family. There?s plenty to do and you will have a good quality of life. Do make some of your own friends too whether through work or your daughter?s friends. It helps to have a circle outside of his family that you can count on. Where will you be based?
