lol, oh great! BPA is apparently in dental sealants

I wasn't going to get all hysterical about the bpa thing, but I've been shopping at a local co-op store lately and figured that if I'm paying more for canned goods, I might as well make sure they are bpa-free. Well, not only does it not appear the brand I bought is NOT BPA-free, but my googling revealed that dental sealants used on children's teeth contain BPA. I HAVE dental sealants! I guess at this point I can't do anything but laugh about the fact this stuff has been in my mouth for the past 15 years.

  • Is it wrong if I say I'm over worrying about this. Just don't microwave your mouth.

ETA: I've come the acceptance that cancer treatments have also advanced over the ages. I'll probably survive...or not.

    Hehe.  :)

  • Ha, FMLB, that has pretty much been my take throughout this whole thing.  I just find it funny in a dark kind of way that, even if I try to avoid it, I can't because it's IN MY TEETH. lol
  • That sucks!  I wonder if they're in my cavity fillings too.  Crap.  BPA is the one thing I haven't been able to get away from at all.  I eat local and organic, have cut virtually all GMO products out, but we still eat a fair amount of canned goods.  Mainly beans and tomatoes.  We just can't afford to buy the brands that are BPA free, like Eden Organics.  They're $2.39 a can, and Whole Foods 365 brand is $0.89. Booo!
