Andrea - Tell us about your cruise!

Re: Andrea - Tell us about your cruise!

  • Florida was cold.

We went ATVing and cave tubing through the rain forest in Belize. It was beautiful. I was almost impaled by two trees sticking out into the water, but luckily I hadn't had any drinks at that point and was able to move quickly ;)  Also had a chance to eat some homemade Belize cuisine, have a Belkin beer, and try some chestnut wine - all delicious!

Costa Maya was fun.  Their port is like a mini-resort with pools, beaches, and shops.  We ended up laying out for awhile then met up with my parents and brother and we rented a golf cart.  Best $40 ever spent.  We spent two hours driving down the coast and hitting up various beach bars.  And they all had swings for seats and cheap beer ;)  My brother graduates with a law enforcement degree in March and we found him a bottle of tequila shaped like a gun.  It will make a beautiful graduation gift :)

Cozumel ALWAYS gets the best of us.  This was our third time there and our third time barely making it back to the ship.  Seriously, the open bars and $1 beers at the gift shops will do you in.  We took a boat to Passion Island and it was beautiful.  Played a lot of volleyball, drank a gallon or two of margaritas and soaked up the sun.  We nicknamed it 'The Hangover, Cozumel style.'  Pretty sure we invited people to join our wolfpack, called some kid Carlos, and had to look through our pictures to remember exactly what all happened.

Then we got back to Florida and there was steam coming off the water and I could see my breath.

    The end!

  • what ship were you on?  if you weren't on Oasis of the Seas (that new biggest ship ever) did you at least see it in port?  it is HUGE!

sounds like an awesome time!  sorry FTL couldn't give you better weather!  :)

  • We were on the Independence.

Oasis looks amazing, but it's so overpriced right now.  It's on my list of vacations to take, though!

I wish we could have flown into FLL a day earlier, but it didn't work out.  The 'but my internet friend lives there and I want to meet her' excuse didn't seem to win anyone else in my family over ;)

LOL, i tried that with TJ a few times during our summer road trip, and it didn't work either, i totally understand!  :)

i'm still holding out hopes for an A08 reunion cruise!

  • Wow Andrea...your pictures look amazing, the deep set blue of the ocean, the crystal turquoise waters, and beautiful gigantic smile on your face...clearly show that you had a blast! Did you call that monkey "Marcel?" LOL. The clouds look like puffy marshmallows in the sky...it's all just too pretty. You definitely have some pictures to blow up into a canvas for the home.
