Ideas/Thoughts for Valentine's Day

Hey ladies! Have any of you planned anything special for V-day? I have no idea what we are going to do or what I want to get DH.  Any ideas?

Re: Ideas/Thoughts for Valentine's Day

  • I dunno, but we should probably start thinking about it. We did our taxes on Valentine's day last year - we know how to do romance. Now that the bar is set extra low, we could probably feel pretty impressed with some Velveeta mac & cheese (or kraft if we owe).
  • Yes! :)

V-Day is also DH's birthday (lucky me lol)... this year I am taking him to see Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance @ the Belk Theater and I am so excited!
DH has been talking about how he wants to see that for *years* and I can finally take him. It is taking all of my willpower not to blab and tell him we're getting tickets.

  • I think I might give him a aweekend getaway to the Great Wolf Lodge in Concord.  It has an indoor water park, spa and it would just be a nice weekend getaway.

This is what I am giving him, not doing on V-day.

On V-day we will be in upstate NY for a winter festival.

  • We don't make a big deal out of Valentines day. Usually we'll just buy each other cards and go out to dinner. Nothing fancy.

  • Jan 19th is our Wedding Anniversay and Jan 20th is his birthday... so by the time V-day comes around, we are still recovering Stick out tongue

We will probably get each other cards and watch a movie...

  • We don't really celebrate the holiday
  • The last couple years we've made something "special" at home (a couple years ago I think it was filet mignon, and last year I made a creamy crabmeat pasta that was a copycat of DH's favorite dish at a restaurant we like). We'll probably do the same this year. We've also tried to divide things up--like I chose and made the dinner and DH chose and made the dessert--to get us both involved.

We put up our tile backsplash last year.  Since it hasn't been grouted yet, I think that might be our "big" plans for this year!  I think we might be on the same level of romance, Terp!

  • Our anniversary is February 13th so we are going back to Gatlinburg!
