AW: My summer vacation

Will be a week in Ireland!  WOOT!!  We went a few years back for St. Patricks day and it was so flippin cold and windy, so I am super excited for a June trip!!!!  We're renting a cottage from a friends uncle so we got a banging good deal and he sent us a picture of the outside today.  He may have to kick me out!

Re: AW: My summer vacation

  • Can you pack me in your suitcase?!!! That sounds incredible, have fun!
  • Wow, have fun!  I really want to go to Ireland with DH someday, especially since I'm Irish by marriage now.

  • It sounds awesome! Great news. My H and I went to Ireland in 2008 and spent two weeks driving from Dublin around the country to Kinsale and up to Donegal. We stopped were we felt like it. Of course, we had a general route we wanted to take but no hotel reservations. It was an amazing trip! Ireland is very beautiful. So exciting that you are going again!
  • What a great trip!  I would LOVE to go there!
  • Can you pack me in P's suitcase so that me and Bella can come? Sounds amazing hun!  Cant wait to see pictures.

  • Wow-what an awesome trip!!! I will be 'green' (ha!) with envy!!!

We did this the first time we went.  This time we will be closer to Shannon but we have an overnight trip to Dublin planned and I definitely would like to see the Aran Islands this time and have a less scary time at the Cliffs of Moher.  When we saw those, there were 70mph wind gusts. I have pictures of the ocean spray blowing up over the cliffs and people were being blown over into the mud.  Freaked the ever loving daylights out of me.

  • Awesome!!!! Same plan for the trip :))

We haven't been to the Aran Islands so it will be interesting to hear about your trip there. And I agree with you on the Cliffs of Moher! It was so freaking windy!!! We got there after our hike at the Burren and were pretty exhausted as the trail was very confusing. We just hung out at the observation area and took a few pictures. The wind was crazy, some people could hardly even walk. I wonder if it's aways that windy there. We were there in May.

  • That sounds AMAZING!!
  • WANT. I need to plan a trip to Ireland sometime in the next 2 years. I really want to go with my family and visit my great-grandmother's house (where she lived with 11 brothers and sisters . . . for real).

  • That sounds like an amazing trip!  I'm so jealous, I've never been to Ireland!
