Awww, thanks for asking! As it turns out, when a fella who owns his own tuxedo, he looks for excuses to wear it. . .and I've now been on two dates with him that required a cocktail dress!
Our first cocktail attire date was our second date. I wore a black dress I already owned, some cute black patterned tights from Banana Republic (did you recommend those? I loved them!), a bright purple wrap, and some shiny new accessories. He told me I looked fantastic all evening, so I decided to believe him.
Our second cocktail attire date was NYE. . .our sixth date. I was bragging about it here.
Now that I've seen him in a tuxedo twice, I really can't blame the guy for always wanting to wear it!

Agree with PP! I did rec the patterned tights, and I am so glad that you liked them, but I am also interested in how long they stayed on. Tee hee.

The second date highlights:
We met for drinks before the party, and two of his friends also met us there. At first (when he called me on the way to the place to let me know his friends were going to be there), I freaked out a little bit because I got nervous about meeting friends PLUS attending a cocktail party full of strangers PLUS being on a second date. But, it turned out for the best because after meeting the friends, I knew two extra people at the party, so that made the party less weird! Everyone at the party was nice, and we had a good time, but a lot of people left pretty early. So, we left and went back to the same bar with a few people from the party. Good times! For the record, my tights stayed on. I did get a sweet goodnight kiss that night, so hooray for that!
I'd say things are going pretty well with my Secret Agent Man. (I feel like I'm dating James Bond with all the tuxedo wearing!) We've had 9 dates so far, and are taking things slow, but have plans on the calendar for the next few weeks. I like him.
