Poll: Cars

We're finally going to buy our first one in the next few months (probably once the snow is gone in April) and we're both total newbies.

So...

1. What car do you drive?

2. Do you like it?

3. Would you buy something from a company that received a bail-out?

4. What would you drive if money was of no object?

Re: Poll: Cars

  • 1. Toyota Camry.

    2. Yes.

    3. Probably not.  When it's time to replace my car I'll probably stick to a Toyota or Honda.

    4. Maybe a BMW.

  • 1. What car do you drive?

    2004 Honda Civic Coupe

    2. Do you like it?

Yes, love it, but need something bigger now.

    3. Would you buy something from a company that received a bail-out?

No, because I only drive Japanese cars.  Well, I've only ever driven Hondas so far.

    4. What would you drive if money was of no object?

    Probably a Lexus RX Hybrid.

  • 1.  Toyota Prius

    2.  Both John and I love love LOVE the car.  It's quite roomy for a hatchback-style car and we've been able to fit a crapload of stuff in there for our craft fairs.  It's quiet, very very fuel efficient, and the rear camera comes in handy when parallel parking in tight spaces.  Smile

    3.  Sorry, but I prefer Japanese makers over American ones.  It has nothing to do with whether or not they received bailouts.  I just never really liked their cars.  Stick out tongue

    4.  My dream car is an all-electric Mini Cooper.  I like smaller cars and love the look of Mini Coopers.  They're already pretty fuel efficient but I'd love to see an all-electric version of one.  That would be awesome!

  • 1. What car do you drive?

    2007 Hyundai Tucson

    2. Do you like it?

Love, love, LOVE it!!!  This is my third Hyundai, but my first Tucson (we wanted a small SUV for me with the LO on the way).  I had two different Elantras before this.  I think you get a lot for your money with Hyundai, and I have had great luck with them.

    3. Would you buy something from a company that received a bail-out?

I guess maybe this is selfish, but if I truly loved a car and the price was right, I'm not sure it would matter to me.  I have to drive it everyday....I want something I love to drive and feel safe in.

    4. What would you drive if money was of no object?

    BMW X3 or X5

  • 1. What car do you drive?

    Audi Q7 Sline (SUV)

    2. Do you like it?

I ADORE my car!!! I need the space with two huge dogs and all our adventures plus it seats seven and I can load my friends up in it and we can go somewhere.

    3. Would you buy something from a company that received a bail-out?

We bought a Ford F150 less than a year ago, so yeah I guess so! We got a good deal on it because of what was going on.

    4. What would you drive if money was of no object?

Well I still think I need a big car like I have, and I personally like my SUV over any of the others out there. But if I could have just a regular sedan to go along with my SUV (cause money is no object right?!) I would have an Audi S8 SLine hands down - badass and FAAAST!

  • 1. What car do you drive?

    Audi A4

    2. Do you like it?

    Love it

    3. Would you buy something from a company that received a bail-out?

    No

    4. What would you drive if money was of no object?

H was watching a show with Jay Leno's custom car... with a jet engine! It was gorgeous, not to mention fast. I would love to drive it.

  • 1. What car do you drive?  Acura TL

    2. Do you like it?  I loooooove it

    3. Would you buy something from a company that received a bail-out?   I don't know.  I'm a Honda/Acura kind of girl....and kind of a snob about it.  Embarrassed

    4. What would you drive if money was of no object?  Another Acura!

MH drives an Acura MDX, this is his 2nd one.  I've had 2 Honda Accords and a Honda Civic.....it would take A LOT to get me out of the Honda family.

  • 1. What car do you drive? 2008 Ford Focus

    2. Do you like it? *love* it!

    3. Would you buy something from a company that received a bail-out? yes

    4. What would you drive if money was of no object?  Probably a BMW or Lexus.

  • 1. What car do you drive?

I drive a 2005 Honda CRV-SE and DH drives a 2004 Honda Accord Ex...we'll probably switch though once I am back to work since DH will be home with baby during the day and the CRV is easier with the carseat, groceries, etc.

    2. Do you like it?

LOVE them both!  They both have leather interiors, heated seats, ride well, etc. so they feel somewhat luxurious but they get great gas mileage (even with a V8 in the Accord) and are low in maintenance costs.

    3. Would you buy something from a company that received a bail-out?

Probably not...I don't really do domestic vehicles.

    4. What would you drive if money was of no object?

Probably a Mercedes...DH says a Mazarati!  LOL!  Realistically, when we're ready for a new vehicle we hope to get a hybrid...although DH really likes the Subaru Outback and I like the Honda Pilot.  Before we got the CRV we were looking a four door Honda hybrid...they're roomier than I thought they'd be and really nice.

  • 1. What car do you drive? VW GTI, MH has a VW Jetta2. Do you like it? Adore our Volkswagens and will probably always own one3. Would you buy something from a company that received a bail-out? I feel the same as PP's, we definitely prefer non-domestic vehicles4. What would you drive if money was of no object? Probably a VW Touareg or a BMW X5

  • 1. What car do you drive? Nissan Altima

    2. Do you like it? I love it... still a four door car but very spacious and runs really well - plus I like the way it looks.

    3. Would you buy something from a company that received a bail-out? Probably not... don't know if it has to do with the bail out, rather I think I just prefer foreign made cars.

    4. What would you drive if money was of no object? A small SUV... because of my dogs and I like having space to carry things or people.  Don't know much about car brands, etc, so I don't have a dream car.  I just want something reliable (which is why I did a bunch of research before I bought my Nissan).

  • 1. What car do you drive?  '99 Toyota Camry

    2. Do you like it?  I do.  I have never had a car payment and hope never to have one.  It's really reliable and I don't worry if it gets dinged, if my dog's hair gets on the seat, or if the soon-to-be-here baby pukes or spills stuff in it.  It's our "family car" since DH has a truck.

    3. Would you buy something from a company that received a bail-out?  Not currently.  When it's time for an upgrade, it'll probably be another Toyota or a Honda.

    4. What would you drive if money was of no object?  I loooove the look of Volvo S40 and S80 and VW Touareg.  But I am too practical to ever go there... Tongue Tied

  • 1. What car do you drive? Mitsubishi Magna

    2. Do you like it? It's not bad. Honestly, I'd prefer a shorter car. It has the turning radius of a sperm whale.

    3. Would you buy something from a company that received a bail-out? To tell the truth, I prefer Japanese cars over American (or, if I had more money, German cars over both lol).

    4. What would you drive if money was of no object? I don't have super expensive tastes. I like BMW's M5 (OK, a little expensive), but for our next car I'd actually like a Mazda 3 or 6.
  • 1. What car do you drive?VW Tiguan (it's a new model, came out in 2009) 2. Do you like it?Love it! It's big and spacious but not a mom car. It's hot! Plus it drives really well. 3. Would you buy something from a company that received a bail-out?Yes as long as the company was on solid financial ground. 4. What would you drive if money was of no object? Probably the same (I love VW's!) but a more suped-up version with leather heated seats, a bike rack and all the add-ons.

  • 1. What car do you drive? I drive a 99 Mazda Millenia and we also have huge 07 Toyota Tundra

    2. Do you like it?  Eh, the Mazda use to be ok until I started driving our new truck. I have also been a Honda girl and when my car was totaled, I didn't want a car payment and I've always like the look of the Millenia so I bought it.  The Toyota on the other hand, I LOVE it. It is huge (four door extended bed) and hard as heck to park and won't fit  in certain parking garages, but I've never felt so safe in my life. It is "Ashton's" truck..i.e. when you have baby for the day, you drive the truck.

    3. Would you buy something from a company that received a bail-out? Probably not, I've always been a Honda/Toyota fan

    4. What would you drive if money was of no object?  I really like those Acura SUV's lately oh and that new car by Lexus that can park itself.  All I really car about is safety.

  • 1. What car do you drive? VW Jetta (2006, so it's the newer body)

    2. Do you like it? yep - I need a safe, reliable commuter car b/c I commute 60 miles each day for work.

I hate their (financial) customer service - when I moved to a different state and then when I did my lease buy out they were horrible to deal with but I don't have to deal with them anymore (and don't plan to lease ever again).

    3. Would you buy something from a company that received a bail-out? I don't really care, all the men in my family drive american made trucks I just personally prefer European cars.

    4. What would you drive if money was of no object?hmmm, money is no object?  Not really sure, but as soon as I go back to work after the baby we will be getting a BMW X5 or a Volvo XC90 and I love, love, love those!  It will be MH's daily car since his commute is only about 5 miles a day.

oh, and if I could have a new car I would probably get the VW Jetta TDI.  I also drive a Prius for work and really like that car too.  I would just like to spend less on gas to get to work each day.

  • 1. What car do you drive?

    '09 Toyota Camry

    2. Do you like it?

WE LOVE IT!!  This car gets great gas mileage.  I have no car payment so that's the BEST piece of this.  Its so roomy in both the front and back seat.  Really good sound system in it as well.  I am very happy with this vehicle especially since people tell me that Toyota's run to like 300k miles.  I am the kind of person that will run this car to the ground.  I have never had a car payment so I'd like to keep it that way for a long time.

    3. Would you buy something from a company that received a bail-out?

I hate to say this because this could bother some, but deciding on our next car for MH will have nothing to do with the bail out.  I do imagine us buying another Toyota though.

    4. What would you drive if money was of no object?

For sure a BMW.  I'm from a family of BMW's, we will have one in our future.

  • Wow! So many Honda/Toyota lovers! I was leaning towards a camry myself, so it's good to see there are so many supporters of the brand here!
  • 1. What car do you drive? just bought a 2010 Scion xb new years eve :)

    2. Do you like it? I love it....I was driving a Kia spectra 5 and hated it.  I love that I have a toyota now, I initially wanted a Honda Element but the financing didn't work out.  The Scion is priced right and it's a beautiful car...I haven't even thought twice about the element

    3. Would you buy something from a company that received a bail-out? probably not....we had gone to look at cars at ford and GMC but the salesmanship was terrible and the cars were crap that were on the lot.  It made me realize why they weren't selling any cars

    4. What would you drive if money was of no object? BWM or a Lexus :)

  • 1. Just bought 2010 Nissan Altima Coupe for me and DH drives a Infiniti         G35

    2. Love them both.

    3. Probably not, we prefer foreign cars.

    4. Mercedes

  • 1. What car do you drive?  VW's...Passat and GTI

    2. Do you like it? yup

    3. Would you buy something from a company that received a bail-out?  if it was a great deal...yes.

    4. What would you drive if money was of no object?  hmm, i rarely drive so that's kind of a toughie...a vespa!

  • 1. What car do you drive? 2005 Mazda 3s

    2. Do you like it? I LOVE it!  I used to drive through the canyons twice a week to take a class... their wholle "zoom zoom" campaign was no joke!  It handled all the curves extremely well.

    3. Would you buy something from a company that received a bail-out?  I'm not a big fan of American cars anyway so most likely not.

    4. What would you drive if money was of no object? I really love my car and will keep it till the day it gives out on me.  But if I were to get another car...  :)   I really like the BMW X5 (my mom has one & I love driving it!) or the older Audi TT convertible or the Audi R8 (oh sooo sexy!)
