I should just sell college textbooks

This is where the money is at.  $355 for books JUST for my A&P class.  $55 of that is for a flipping coloring book.  I can't wait to see how much my other classes are going to cost on top of this....

Re: I should just sell college textbooks

  • Its a scam.  Especially for anything science related since its outdated the second its printed.  It was the one good thing about dropping my biochem major for a social work major - cheaper books.

  • Hey girl... I remember those days. Have you tried Amazon. I ordered mine when I was in school and they have new and used for great prices. This is just a thought.
  • I avoid amazon when I have a timeline that I need something by.  The last two orders I have placed with them have taken over a month to ship to me.  I may try ebay though.

  • Yea thats true, they do take longer than usual. Hmm ebay! Never thought about that! GL with your semester!
  • That sucks!  I always hated buying books in college and grad school because they were so expensive...even the used ones.  I remember in college one of my friends spent $500 on two books, both of which were used.  She couldn't believe it.

  • Wow... glad those days are over for me! I remember needing quarters sooo terrible one semester that I sold two text books for 50 cents and made them give me the $ in quarters only!  Desperation at its finest!
  • Book prices are awful!!! I didn't buy books for my class unless absolutely necessary and I used www.half.com it's an ebay company and had lots of books. I've never had trouble with it and it's great deals. Plus, you can sell them back there afterward for more money than the book stores will give you =D.
  • I hated when you'd pay 100+ for an engineering book then realize that your prof is the one who wrote it. Greedy much? Then no other schools use that book so it is super hard to sell later.

I feel you on this. @ssholes!!! All my engineering books were the most $$$$. We had one professor that wrote his own books, but he also printed them and only charged about $20 -- So lucky!!!
