We are debating whether or not to buy a loveseat or buy a sectional. We currently have a reclining sofa (got it as a hand-me-down, but is showing its age). Our issue is that we don't have enough seating room when we have company over.
Which led me to wonder...what do you have or prefer for living room furniture?
Re: Furniture Question
I think it depends on what fits best in the space you have. We have a sectional because it was the best way to maximize seating space in our living room and fit the room layout perfectly, and I love it. However, I also really like sofa/loveseats.
Right now we have a sofa and loveseat. We move so often that we'll keep these until we buy a house and will save so we can buy furniture that fits that house.
In general though, I prefer sectionals!
We have a sofa, 2 chairs, and a love seat(which is Snaps love seat cause it's old and I don't care if he gets on it.) But we really have too much in our living room. It's not that big.
I would like to have a large loveseat and 2 chairs, and maybe an
adoman(sp?) guest could sit on if needed.
Right now we have a sofa and a princess chair (Chair and a 1/2) with ottoman.
We looked at sectionals, DH realllly wants one, but they are so big and sometimes our cat pees on stuff. So I am not willing to buy any new furniture until its an outdoor cat!
Agent - I don't blame you one it!
My parents used to have a sectional, and I loved it, especially the corner spot. I think based on our currents space though, we might go with a sofa/loveseat and maybe a chair. We decided we'll put our current sofa in our office until we get a futon. So this weekend we'll browse Rooms to Go - they seem pretty cheap and had some good deals going on.
We bought a sectional. It's great for stretching out and cuddling, and Mom, Dad, Baby and Dog can all sit together. We even have a small dog bed at one end for Ginger. When we moved, it was great that both of us could sleep on it for a couple of nights before we got the bed set up.
I do like how multiple couches look. I like to rearrange my furniture often, and sectionals limit this big time. When broken apart, we have to make sure the hooks are hidden.
It is hard to have a convo with multiple people on one sectional because there's always someone who can't really see. But, we have another chair, too.
