We got an offer on our house!
Figures the first day DH is gone an offer comes in. Trying to come up with a counter offer. They went pretty low, but unfortunately not too off the mark based on comps. We can't afford to go as low as they and the comps are suggesting...friggin broke still after forking out $$ for the wedding.
I have power of attorney (house in DHs name only) and get to do the whole shebang on myself unless things get to the point he could sign them while he's in port at Jax. Baaaaaahhh. <-me right now. I'm sooo not the one thats into dealing with comps and counteroffers.

We do have an agent. Right now I'm waiting to hear from DH to find out what exactly he has for cash-on-hand in his accounts. (We don't have combined checking. I do have power of attorney so I can just ask his bank and have them tell me, but I wanted to ask him first as its easier. Forgot to ask before he left....we were a little busy getting him ready to go.)
Buyer is also military and is under more of a deadline than we are, so thats something. Plus being military hopefully they'll understand the challenges of him being underway. Their initial offer is 9K under asking plus we'd have to bring up to 7K for closing...and still pay our agent. We'd be losing about 16K on the deal right now not even counting the agent stuff...so yeah...that ain't happening. Will counter offer probably in the next 24 hours.

October 2013 February Siggy Challenge: Valentine's Day Fail

Have heard back from DH and gotten his input on things. We were thinking about the same in terms of a counter offer. Good thing I heard from him too, he clarified a few things I had questions on.
Crazy to think that I could be putting in notice at my job by months end and moving by Valentines Day (One of sellers caveats was that the deal be signed by Feb 26). No job to go to. Not sure where I'll live (probably with my parents till I get a job in NY).
What a whirlwind couple of days.
