random vent...
Ok so my mom is soooonot mechanicaly inclined. She does not check her trucks gauges oil or anything. If daddy didn't do it, it would get done. Well she blew the headgasket in her truck. So daddy has been takingher back and forth to work. Well daddy has gotten some work in T-town and needs to stay down there 2 days to get it all done. So he can't really drive down there work come back get mama from work, go back down there, that would just waste gas. So daddy asked if she could borrow my truck. I said sure that's fine, since we have 3 cars and they are down to one now. Well as you know DH and I are taking Karate. Well me and mamma used to take it when I was little so we had all the equipment. She had said to me not to long ago she found all our old stuff from Karate. Well I asked her lastnight if she would bring it so DH and I could go through it and see if we could use any of it. She was just going to give it away to DH's half brother(who we are taking Karate from). Well she tells me she's not going out there to the barn(She has a storage room out at the barn) to get it tonight, and she has to be at work at 7:00 in the morning and so she's not going to go out there before 7 just to get it.and I quote "So if your daddy doesn't go out there and get it it just won't get brought." So I tell her to let me talk to daddy so I can ask him to get it and she just hangs up on me.
Well I tell DH this who has just got back from the shop, he has been cleaning out the bed of the truck and all in the freezing cold(our shop we rent has no insulation) and he is still sick.
He is really irritated at her now, because he said we are letting her borrow our truck and she won't even go out to her barn and get some Karate stuff for us. DH is really not happy with her even using it now.
Well on my way to work this morning, BTW: mamma is coming to get my truck today, the low fuel light comes on. Well I tell DH I'm gonna get some gas at lunch cause the light came on. He tells me not to that she can put gas in it. I personally think this is rude to lend someone a car on E. And I know he does too, but he is just so ill at her right now he is saying no.
So I'm stuck...
I understand that DH is upset, but also I am used to my mother being this way. Dh thinks I need to say something to her about it but I know this will just make her mad at me. I just don't know what to do.
I know they need to borrow it, because they don't have the money to buy another vehicle, and daddy needs to go to T-town to work to help pay for fixing the truck.
And another thing DH is mad about is that my mother has at least $400 dollars she keeps in her checking account but doesn't add in her balance and doesn't tell daddy about. She calls it her "mad money" I don't know what she means by that. But DH is mad about that because she probably won't use any of it to help pay to fix HER truck.
You know that show where the parents come and give their child a financial makeover. You know cut up their credit cards, give them and allowance, and straighten out their bills. Well I think my parents need to be on that show but opposite. I think DH and I need to give them a financial makeover, intervention or something. Because they do not know how to manage their money or work together in the money area.
I'm sorry this was so long and pointless but I am just so disgusted, torn, and I feel helpless becasue if I try to help them by suggesting something for them to help them out of this tight they, mainly my mama, will get mad. I just don't know.....

Well the light comes on at a quarter of a tank, so there is that much in it.
I honestly would tell her, Look we are letting you borrow our truck so you can get to work, the least you can do is bring the box of karate stuff with you, we arent asking that much. OR you can RENT A FECKING CAR!
That is seriously rude of her to not bring the box (a very small request) you are letting her borrow your truck which is a very BIG request!
Ditto! I'd say "sorry, we can't let you borrow our car any more unless you bring the karate box." but I'm a b*tch like that.
Exactly this! Not that everything should be titfortat, but your request is so little compared to you loaning her your car. She should happily go get it for you!
And I'd say give it to her without gas. Will she really refill the gas she uses if you fill it up?
