food for 25... best buy?

I need to get food together for 25 people - it will be lunch. Whats the biggest bang for buck? Subway? Pizza? what do you guys think??

Re: food for 25... best buy?

  • i would contact your favorite neighborhood bbq joint. tell them how many people and they should be able to estimate how many pounds you'd need. add buns, slaw and baked beans. Done Smile
  • Can you make sandwiches and individually wrap them?  The reason I ask is because if you can have, say lettuce and turkey on wheat, lettuce swiss and ham on rye, and then lettuce cheddar/american roast beef on a roll/wheat and then just have things like tomato, chips, and mustard/mayo/honey mustard on the side, that will help your portions substantially.  You could also do a "make your own" sandwich thing, but people will take substantially more meat if THEY make the sandwich, whereas if you make the bones of the sandwich and they just add the extras, they'll add less expensive things instead.  And its definitely more filling than pizza. if you partially make the sandwiches I would do at least 12 turkey sandwiches (maybe as many as 15, and then just make 5 and 5 of the other two--unless there will be many hard working men--in which case you may need some more roast beef.)

    HThs!

  • Pizza is probably the least expensive. Some pizza places (like a local pizza place) can also do salads, garlic knots, etc. to beef it up a little.
  • I'd agree that pizza is prolly the least expensvie route to go. you coudl go as cheap as little ceasars pizza which is like 5-6 bucks a large pizza and you could even buy the stuff and make a big sald for people to have with it

  • I would think any fast food place would do, like Subway, Chic-fil-a, etc. You could also check out Costco since I think they do some big party platter type things.

  • I agree w/ pizza probably being the cheapest. Maybe you could get a locally owned place to cut you a deal on a bulk order?
  • I had to feed my staff of 25 a couple of years ago and employed my roommate to cook spaghetti! I think she did it all for under $75!
