Do you ever read reviews on Trip Advisor? What's your take on it? Everytime we are planning a trip I read the reviews and very often get freaked out. Maybe it's a good thing because I'm always pleasently surprised upon arrival. I guess some people just can't be pleased. There are some negative reviews about the resort where we got married. People complaining about the food and beaches. I thought everything was amazing and I'm really picky about food. Let me rephrase that, I'll eat just about anything but I'm almost never impressed with a meal.

This! Very few people rave, but most are likely to complain.
This. Some people just like to complain. I'm pretty easy to please myself
I heavily relied on trip advisor when picking a hotel for our trip, but I read them with an open mind because some people do really b!tch about the littlest things! (Some are quite hilarious) I also liked that it has the pictures that past patrons have post.
One thing specifically that it did do was forwarn us about slow elevators, which we were then prepared for if we had to be somewhere on time, or avoid it all together and take the stairs.
I'm not the biggest fan of Trip Advisor. I agree with pp that people are more likely to go on there to complain. I've loved all the places that I've stayed over the past 3 years and I never posted about them. Some of the reviews are so insane. We specifically booked our wedding at a Sandals because we trusted the brand since we stayed at their resorts twice before. Of course I read reviews on Trip Advisor and was still super nervous about bringing 50 people there.
One girl posted a review about Sandals Antigua that cracked me up. She went on and on about how they ruined her wedding because all of the female staff were hitting on her husband so bad. I found this pretty hard to believe since they are a couples resort. The bartenders wouldn't serve her drinks; she had to have her husband order them. They apparently said things to him, like are you a model, have I seen you in porn? I specifically remember that she said the wedding coordinator couldn't keep her hands off him and all this nonsense. Strangely, no one that worked there was all over Brian and I had no problems getting any drinks from female bartenders.
Another one that I liked was about the resort that we stayed at in St. Lucia. I found a review from someone that was there the exact same week as us. We had a fabulous time, the resort was gorgeous, etc. These people said that the place was so awful that they called their TA and tried to get on a flight the next day to come home. The food and drinks were so bad that they had to take a cab to a local grocery store to get things to keep in their room to eat and drink. How could they have been at the same resort as us???
I think most of the time, people have one little thing that goes wrong and they get so mad about it that they trash the place in hopes that no one will ever stay there again.
This exactly! I even read one that claimed the resort became overun by prostitutes and pimps at night and the security guards let them in! I have never heard anything so crazy. We could look at our window at any hour and see multiple security guards patrolling the beach and resort and never once did I see a "working lady".
I LOVE this!!!
