XP: greatest irrational fears
I stole this from ML, and thought it might fun!
Mine are squirrels, bridges, airplane crashes (and no, knowing the car crash vs airplane crash stats does NOT HELP!)
You?

My Favorite Part of Spring~Red Sox Baseball!
Re: XP: greatest irrational fears
You know those Burger King commercials with the giant smiling king with a creepy smile? And how he randomly shows up in people's beds and outside their windows on the commercials?
That.
LOL! this is a good post.
Mine are snakes, spiders, and vomit. I refuse to be near any of it!
I would argue that my fear is rational, lol....
Sharks. I love the ocean, but I hate swimming in it (no matter where we are geographically) because I am TERRIFIED of sharks.
I think that I am getting better with most of my fears...
Heights and Thunderstorms are the big ones.
I currently have a fear that my cat will want to snuggle with our LO and suffocate it. But DH assures me that if the cat jumps near baby, baby will cry and cat will be spooked. Cat does not like groups of people or loud noises.
Car accident is my worst..
Otherwise drowning or fire.

Took the words right out of my brain! But mine would be vomit, spiders and then snakes. I told DH I can clean poop for hours, I've cleaned baby poop, kid poop and my grandma's poop so it's gross but I can.not.vomit. Even my own. He will be called to come home from work to deal with it.
I also have a huge fear of thunderstorms and tornado's. When I'm in TN visiting my friend I go over my evacuation plan in my head each time and how to get the kids out. Sometimes I will sleep in my sneakers if there is a warning so I can run and not cut my feet if we get hit.
)
Needles, Enlcosed spaces, and strangely moths.....those lil buggers freak me out big time!
And dolls like look strangely human like....too many horror movies growing up I think.....
Bridges, heights, needles, someone touching the front of my throat (like they are going to choke me), bees, being on the second level of anything and falling over the railing and spiders. Iit's the fact that those eyes are fragmented so they see 32 of me per eye. I blame the TV show Rugrats when I was a kid for showing me humans through a spider's eyes!
Not really a fear but it also skeeves me out to look at Adam's apples, especially when men are swallowing.

Stepping on a snake (I've been a millisecond away from doing this three times)
Plane crashes (I don't mind flying, but I can NOT think or talk about it until after I land)
Car accidents/Motorcycle accidents (I am a biker)
One of our dogs pulling their collar off and running into traffic (has happened once before - she was okay, luckily)
ETA: Swimming in any natural body of water and having an animal bump into me
2010 Highlights
9/26 Adirondack Marathon 5:11:37 (major knee pain, but hey, I finished!)
2011 Races and Results
5/29 Buffalo Marathon (5:25 - not pretty, just trying not to get heatstroke!)
9/25 Adirondack Marathon (take 2!)
One of these days I'll have a good marathon!
Some of you hit the nail on the head with mine too. Snakes, spiders, vomit (or even hearing someone vomit). Also thunderstorms. I'm sure there are more but that's what I can come up with right now.
My sister fears the cat in the hat. LOL.
Someone in the back seat of my car. Not a big deal but I always double check my back seat.
Someone attacking me while I am in the car at a train stop. This one is quite irrational since although it doesn't make me avoid the train tracks or anything I always leave enough room in between me and another car to do a u turn and I always mentally consider whether I should just drive into a train and die quick or take my chances with someone breaking into my car and attacking me. Wow, now that I typed that out I feel even more like a freak. But I always feel like a sitting duck.
