LO and I need to get out of the house! What sort of stuff do you do? We go to the mall at least once a week...not to shop but to get out, do some walking and that sort of thing. Any other suggestions?
Re: GTA moms
We just started a couple of community centre classes -- mom and baby aquafit and music for babies. The next session won't start for a few months, though.
I've been having the same problem, so other than that I'm not much help!
Ontario Early Years Center for baby massage, mom and baby yoga, stroller fit classes, infant play... my center has a lot of programs for this age group, and thats what I did when I had my first.
we also went for lots of walks. hikes in nice parks or wooded areas (I wore my baby with a wrap, and later in a backpack).
bc we have 2 now, a 2.5 yr old, and a 6 month old... we often go to the library for the big guy. there are programs there like musical families, tales for twos, etc.
I know for an older child in my area there are places like My Bubble - ta play place for kids... I haven't been, but the moms at the OEYC rave about those places. apparently there's even a infant play area. if you get out to an OEYC, talk to the moms about what they... since they are local to you, they might have better ideas.
HTH & GL
My little one isn't here yet, but I've been told by a bunch of people that the Early Year Centres are worth checking out. Not only do they have lots of activities, but I'm also hoping it will be a good opportunity for me to make some friends in my neighbourhood.
I also plan on looking in to swim classes, but the one I found in a quick google search online wouldn't take babies until 6 months. I'm hoping to find something I can go to before that when I actually get around to looking in to it.
Good luck!
