Photography books/websites
for newbies like me? I'm not sure if I had mentioned that I got the Nikon D5000 right before Christmas so I have a lot to learn. I also started a blog ....365 Days of Ashton...so I'd like to learn how to take a decent photo. I think it will be neat to see Ashton grow as well as my photography skills.
TIA!
Oh and which lens/accessories should I be adding to my wish list?
Re: Photography books/websites
Lots of people recommend Understanding Exposure. I have it and I'm still working on it. Also, just reading your manual is helpful and playing around with the settings. Definitely learn how to change your focus point and try to focus on the eyes when you take photos of Ashton.
He is so dang cute, btw!
I found that lots of people on the Photography board are going through this "12 weeks to Better Photos" thing and they all recommended it:

So I'm going to do it as soon as I get my DSLR in the mail...
This. DH purchased this after seeing it referred to again and again online, and he read it cover-to-cover. He found it incredibly informative (even made a handy notecard with the main points that he carries in his camera bag). We also gifted it to a close family friend who is also getting into photography this Christmas.
Also, if you are interested in classes, there are various levels of adult learning ones offered through the public schools and through UH. DH and the family friend are taking one at UH.
