FML

The mini-mart literally three blocks away apparently got robbed at knife point last night.

This is why I have to work.  To get a new house.  SO WHY ARE WE STILL HERE DH??? Oh that's right, because you won't call your cousin (our realtor) so we can get our butt in gear.  (I would call, but its HIS cousin - he has until this Friday or else I am going to do it myself).

I hate living next to the ghetto.  So glad we have dogs to scare away the bad guys.

The best part is that it has thrown the city into a racist rant.  Go figure.  Typical bullsh!t.  They didn't rob the mini-mart because of their race, idiots.

Re: FML

  • Yikes!

I didn't know there was a "ghetto" in Iowa???  I guess there's pockets of desperate people wherever you go though.  Sad.

I love when DH drives me throught he "ghetto" in Minneapolis...I laugh...it is nothing compared to the real projects in Chicago.

  • Our town accepted section 8 (housing) vouchers from ppl and families that weren't actually residents of the city, so we had a huge influx of ppl from Chicago and Rockford come in - which for the most part would be awesome. Except a lot of them are minorities and even though it's a bigger city, people are stuck in their racist mindset - which makes it hard for anyone that's not white to get a job - unfortunately racist employers get away with it. no jobs means no money which means crime which means were moving. Plus we live in between the bars and two colleges. That means vomit in my yard more than the average yard gets pikes on. Lightweight college kids!

  • Do you live by a bar called Knickers?  Or an Italian place called Marcos?
  • Wow---hope he gets his a$$ in gear and calls his cousin!

We are fortunate... the trash that lived across the street (remember the police raid a few mos ago?) got kicked out.  Whoever is living there is quiet and we rarely see them.  Glad our law enforcement is so up on things!

Hope you get outta there veryfast!

  • Woah, that's not good!  I hope DH gets in gear and calls so you guys can get the ball rolling and get out of there!!

  • Yiiiikes dude that sucks.

But crime happens where ever you go. Even the "nice" neighborhoods havce crime...maybe less or a different type.

Like out here, if you look up the rich part of town, all their crime is mostly drug related, which you think would be more on the middle class side of town. The middle class side actually had wayyyyyyy less drug crime (which surprised me) but more violent (gang) crime.

I dont know if Iowa has a website, but out here we can look up zip codes and see all the crime that has happened, what type it is and where all the sex offenders live.

  • Yikes! Hope Dh gets his but in gear to start looking for a house pronto!!
