Car seat question

Hi Ladies!

Long time no chat!  How is everyone doing?  DH and I are doing really well.  We are expecting our first in about two months!  We are super excited.

 Anyways, we have started the car seat search, and we are completely overwhelmed.  Any suggestions for where to look for reviews, safety ratings, etc?  Any car seat recs?

Thank you!!

Re: Car seat question

  • Hey you!!=)

    technically there is no such thing as a car seat that is safer than others.  Some infant seats are easier to use, but they adhere to the same safety ratings.  Are you looking for a bucket infant seat or a convertible car seat?  We have used the Graco Snugride and it has been great!  We choose is partly because we could use it in our stroller.

     Send me a FB msg if you want, too=)  I am hardly on here anymore.

    I hope you guys are doing well!

    Ditto to Breezee's comment.  We bought ours at BRU. They sell the stroller/infant seat set or the infant seat alone.

    If you are looking for a conversible seat then I highly recommend the Britax Marathon.   We plan on getting a second one for Lexi soon.

     BTW,  I can't believe you only have 2 months left!!!  Your pg has gone by so fast!!!

  • For an infant seat I used the Graco SnugRide with the Snap 'n' Go stroller base. It's been very easy and convenient. For his convertible seat I recently purchased the First Years True Fit, which I chose because it can stay rear-racing to 35 pounds. Most seats have a 30-pound limit rear-facing, and I want my little guy to stay rear-facing for as long as possible.

  • We also have the Graco Snugride and have had no issues with it.
