I know some of you will understand since others have had problems with their photographers.
I FINALLY got a link to see our album-that was promised would be done before Thanksgiving. Background...he was running a special price for an upgrade to one of those lay flat, thick page books. I really wanted one, but didn't want to lay out the pages myself, so I went for the upgrade.
Well it looks ok I guess but there are lots of problems. These pages can't be the 2 page spread type because they are actually mounted on the thick pages, and there is a definite margin down the book making them seperate. But he has the pages laid out as one big page so tho ones laid in the middle will be cut in 2. And, I made sure the clarify that it was 24 pages front and back (meaning 48 total) and he said yes it was. Well its not. Its only 24 total. That was a BIG factor in me doing this upgrade.
So right now, I just want my money back and to not get this book. Also, I designed books for all our parents for Christmas and love them so much more than this. Its just a book from Picaboo, but it came out great. I'm just so unhappy with him not delivering what he promised, it taking so long, and the outcome not being worth it.

Have you tried contacting him to let him know where you stand on this? Professionals need to remember that things like this can come back to bite them.
Are you going to post reviews in your bio and post a link on theknot IN board? There are so many ladies from the north on there that it might be helpful.
Yeah I emailed him back right after I looked at the link. No response yet.
I probably will post reviews. He does great work, but I think he sort of lacks in everything after actually taking the pictures.
I can't remember, do you have it in writing that you were supposed to get the pictures back in X amount of time? Do you also have it in writing that it's supposed to be 24 pages (back/front)?
Getting your money back might be tricky if you don't have the 24 pages thing in writing, but if the time limit is stated, then you have at least a little case against him for breech of contract.
Well included in our actual package (where we have the signed contract) was a different book. I paid to upgrade to this lay flat album.
And we did everything over email, but I have kept them all. The timing thing was more of an annoyance because he kept saying he was about done but then when I'd check I knew he hadn't started it yet and would give me another date it "should" be done by. So there was no guaranteed date it'd be done, just promises that were not true.
But the number of pages thing-I have the emails where I asked twice just to be sure I was looking at it right. So he certainly gave me the wrong info on that! And that was a big reason I even paid for the upgrade!
Be sure to point out to him when you talk/e-mail with him that you have all these e-mails stating that he was going to do 48 pages (24 f/b). It's a clean and cut case: You will only pay for what you agreed upon.
That, or he should redo the albums at the page number you agreed upon.
This is what I'm hoping for! We'll see though.
