Suddenlink - any feedback

Considering switching to Suddenlink and wanting feedback - good bad or neutral

Right now we have AT&T Uverse and are happy with the service - but may want to save some money - also we like to have service in lots of rooms (Uverse requires a box in each room for any service)

Re: Suddenlink - any feedback

  • You can get most of the basic non-hd channels without dvr just by hooking up the tv to the cable jack in your extra rooms.  I think for basic cable internet and cable tv with HD-Channels I pay $110.  But if you dont' want HD channels or dvr (they require the same equipment) then I think it's $20 cheaper.

We had a few complaints early on because our internet would always flake out and our tv signal would space out and freeze a lot when we first moved out here but now we haven't had too many problems.  Must be that they upgraded some software on their end.

  • I pay 150 a month for a DVR, HD, an extra plain jane converter, 2 movie channels and internet.

I do not like the new DVR programming. It doesnt really record all my shows in full.  I also do not like the new parental controls. I used to be able to turn it off for 4 hours and then it would relock. Now, I have to add the code every time I switch channels.

  • We had it before AT&T and we hated it.  We like U-Verse so much better.

The internet speed we were getting was about half as fast as the one we were paying for, the HD signal was crappy, the DVR sucked.

  • DH and I are happy with their internet service--half the price of Time Warner for the same speed, and we haven't had any problems. But their tv packages were too expensive. We got Directv with 3 boxes, the sports pack, HD and DVR in the living room for about $70 a month (which includes a 10$ a month refer-a-friend credit).  We couldn't pass it up.  Another box would have cost us an additional $5 a month.  If you get interested in Directv, let me know. If they are still doing the refer a friend thing, I can give you my info to get $10 off a month for 10 months.
We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

THIS!!! I am so much happier with AT&T!

  • Have you actually looked at suddenlink prices? From what I remember they were expensive. We have dish only because Uverse isn't available. I believe suddenlink has the highest prices.
  • Thanks y'all - sorry I posted and ran but got insanely for a couple of days.  We heard some negative things about Suddenlink and want to stay with U-verse, but the box issue is just such a hassle.
