All you creative gals, come in...

DH and I are getting ready to celebrate our first anniversary (the 24th) and I need a creative way to give him his gift. I bought him 2 season tickets for the Bills next season. I've thought about a scavenger hunt but I'm not sure where to send him. I am not a creative person by any means and I want to do something more than just hand him the tickets and say "Happy Anniversary!"

Re: All you creative gals, come in...

  • Hmm, you could maybe have him end at the Bills store at Eastview, include St. John Fisher college (where Bills training camp is), maybe something at Channel 13 (Their sports guy, Mike Catalano, does all the preseason Bills stuff), stop at Anchor Bar or Buffalo Wild Wings, a nearby high school football field... That's all I've got now, but I'll post more if I think of them!  It's a really cute idea!

  • You could buy him a Bills calendar and fill in all the dates of games to see if he can guess it :)

  • Similar to Glenlake's idea- If you have time, a photo calendar would be nice. DH got me one last Christmas with a photo on each month of stuff we'd done that year, family birthdays printed on there and other important dates. You could do something like that and put all of the Bills Games on the calendar (in 2010 at least).

I think DH did his on either Kodak Gallery or Snapfish, but Walmart or any photo place could do it- they even have them with just one photo, and then the 12 months down below.

  • Oh I LOVE these!

How about making a football themed dinner? Then under the plate of the Buffalo wings (get it....Buffalo Bills...hahaha) ask him very innocently.... "Honey ew....there's something stuck on the bottom of the plate....ew...what is it?"

Ta-da...tickets attached at the bottom with light tape as to not damage the ticket.

Took 2 years & 8 months to make our baby! Lilypie First Birthday tickers
  • Moxy - I thought about ending the scavenger hunt at Fisher because of training camp. I didn't think of the Bills store and I completely forgot we had an Anchor Bar here in Rochester now.

Love the calendar idea, as well! I only know who the Bills are playing next season but not the dates. Maybe I will get him a Bills calendar for his office (a coworker suggested a Buffalo Jills calendar but I don't need to be looking at that for 365 days!)

Thanks for all the great suggestions - I'll let you know how it turns out! Smile

  • A friend from High School's younger sister is one of the Jills squad captains!  I say go ahead and get the Jills calendar - they don't get paid for doing games or practices, I think the calendars and appearances are the only way they make money - you can consider it charity.  :-)

  • I do enjoy charitable purchases! Smile I think I'll take a trip to Barnes and Noble today and see what I can't find. Thanks again!!
  • DH would be annoyed by a scavenger hunt.  I would go with the Jills calender.  Or just get nekkid and hand him the tickets and say happy anniversary.  Ha ha, he would like that too.

on that note you might as well go all the wall and do some body paint in Bills colors! ;)
