what a nice surprise to come to the board and see all your overly generous comments! it happens to be a great morning for it too, i woke up feeling congested and crappy and had a dream last night that only 4 people came to my shower this saturday (the dream was actually more funny than upsetting, but still, i wasn't feeling the love!) ![]()
christina, TJ is a huge cowboys fan, i had to wear that shirt for a quarter b/c the guys at our favorite philly bar (where TJ was the ONLY cowboys fan) saved me a seat in the packed bar while making TJ stand up, but i had to wear the shirt for a little while. TJ says he is shopping for a vikings shirt for me now since i'm apparently bad luck! ![]()
anyway, i digress, just wanted to say thank you so much to you guys - you made my day! i'm walking around with a huge smile on my face!
xoxoxo
Re: awwww, you all are so sweet!

He He. Totally.
Speaking of, have you guys picked out any names? Or has this been discussed?
yes, we are using family names, so i didn't have much say, which actually made it really easy, though i am not totally in love with the names (yet!)
our son will be Thomas Luke (TJ's family has a tradition that the first son is named after the 2 grandfathers....this will be the 5th Thomas Sharpe, but all have different middle names)
our daughter will be Josephine Lyn Sharpe and we are debating between calling her joey or josie. . i'm on the joey side and TJ likes josie. i think we'll wait and see what works after we meet her.
Josephine is the name of both my and TJ's grandmother and Lyn is my mom's name
i had a dream a month or so ago that my daughter was about 6, with long frizzy hair and these big glasses (so cute) and she was yelling at me b/c her nickname was jo jo and she didn't like it. as she pushed up her glasses on her nose she said "my name is JOSEPHINE, no JOJO so stop calling me that!!" and i replied to her that i carried her around for 9 months and gave birth to her so i could call her whatever i wanted! haha
I love that you're using family names.
I know this is probably a dumb question, but how did you pick which grandparents' names to use? Obviously one from his side and one from your side, but how did you pick which of your grandfathers and which of his?
I really want to do family names but, even though all of my grandparents are dead, I don't think I could choose which grandmothers or grandfathers name to use. I'd feel like I was playing favorites or something
Our kids could have some seriously long names! Hahaha.

i was talking about the grandfathers of our baby, so there are only 2 of them, TJ's dad and my dad. the thomas would go first (as is his family's tradition). I was fine with it, but i love the name luke (my dad's name) and wanted to name a second son luke. TJ thinks that if you use it for a middle name it is off limits, but we'll see about that!
he said we could use a form of Luke, like Lucas.....but when my brothers and I were younger, when we were trying to annoy my dad we would call him Lucas Membrane (and used this reallly annoying voice when we said it) so i don't think i could name my son Lucas after that!
Picking the name josephine for each of my and TJ's grandmothers actually wasn't hard either, as they were the only grandmothers we knew. one of TJ's grandmothers passed away when his dad was only 16, so TJ never met her and my other grandmother passed away when i was 5, so I didn't ever really know her either.
makes sense! thanks for clarifying.
and for the record i love the name josephine! it's so pretty. you are going to have one adorable daughter

I love love love both names!! Josephine is classic, and still sophisticated in my book. I love Joey or JoJo as a nickname.
As far as middle names being off limits, if we ever have a girl, her first name will be Britton's middle name.
Any "feelings" on what you think Baby Sharpie is??
