copying wedding - compliment or creepy?
so we gave our parents copies of our wedding DVD and IL's showed all their neighbors/friends in FL. One of the neighbor's daughters copied the sand ceremony frame idea from our wedding, no biggie...tons of us did that!
when we were out there last month MIL told me that somebody else they know wrote down all of our vows, etc....like copied everything! not sure how I feel about this.....
Re: copying wedding - compliment or creepy?
This. That's just really not normal

We were weirded out by a couple who had our piper, wedding cake designer, and makeup ladies. They married where we spent our mini-moon, not at our place, but we both thought it was weird. I mean can't people be original????
But vows...that is really bizarre.
um, what? i say super creepy. and impersonal for them!
I guess I'm the odd one of the bunch...I think I'd be a little flattered. Shows how awesome of a job you did in writing everything!
Our sand ceremony included our vows, how we felt...I copied a lot of that from various websites and such. But I did have to modify a lot of it too...some things were too sappy and things about wiping away tears just isn't us...

I couldn't have said it better. CREEPY
This! If they can't think of their own vows maybe they shouldn't be getting married. I'm going to have call creepy on this.
i just don't understand why they would want to do that. v. weird....

See, I'm totally fine with using vows that are standard...like churches almost always do the same ones. And I think that's fine. I think it's okay to not write your own.
But then...to take someone's vows that THEY personally wrote for THEIR OWN wedding, even if those vows are inspired by little pieces here and there....word for word? That's strange.
