Restaurant suggestions for a weekend visit?
My H and I live outside DC and will be coming up to New York for a weekend next month. We'll be staying right by Penn Station. Anybody have any restaurants we should definitely absolutely try?
Thanks!

If you like tapas, Tia Pol on 10th Avenue is absolutely amazing. And they have great prices. If you call 5 days before, you can make reservations, otherwise, there's usually a bit of a wait.
What kind of food/place are you looking for?

A recent visit to Apiary, at 60 Third Ave, totally blew my mind. DH is a chef and was blown away as well -- not too pricy (especially for NYC, fish entree to die for $25), great wine list, every single dish from apps to desserts were amazing. We're going back tonight, I am so excited! They are also on Opentable, so you can get points too if you use that. FYI, if there is nothing available on Opentable, always try calling a restaurant as well (I think they only put so many tables on Opentable).
Delicious and very reasonably priced Italian at Crispo on 14th, @ 8th Ave. I think. Also on Opentable.
If you're walking around and want to get an INCREDIBLE eggplant parm in that area, Mangarano's on 9th Ave. @ 38th or so I think.
Enjoy your weekend in the city!

If you guys want to do a great sushi meal (that's pricey), Blue Ribbon Sushi down is Soho is fantastic. Their lobster with miso butter is one of the greatest things I've ever eaten. Their rolls aren't great, but all the sushi/sashimi and other dishes are wonderful.
You must go to one of the Momofuku restaurants. We always go to the noodle bar. Pork sticky buns - amazing! I've heard great things about the other restaurants as well. And Momofuku Milk Bar has yummy desserts.
If you like real Mexican, I wouldn't recommend Rosa Mexicano. Too expensive and not authentic enough.
