Can I get your opinion please?
Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if I could get your opinions on my website...I just started my business (which I am doing in my spare time outside of work) and the website launched yesterday! I designed the website myself and also made my own logo & I'd really appreciate any & all feedback that you would be willing to share....be honest- I don't bruise easily

First, congrats on the business! It's always scary to start something new but also so exciting.
I took a look at the site and my first thought was that I loved the logo and the funky vibe you're going for. I think the green background you've used, while fun, is a bit too bright and overpowering. I'd tone it down.
I like the scrolling photo examples of your work but I think you should arrange them according to product category. You have only a few items on display right now, but over time you'll be showcasing more and clients may not want to scroll through a bunch of stuff that they're not looking for to find samples of the item they need.
Just my 2 cents.

- I like the scrolling pictures of your work
- You need a spot to turn off the music on each page
- on the first page you need to click on the pictures to get to stuff, clicking on the words doesn't work.
Thanks for the tips Melozia. I'm glad you like the logo!!! I am pretty emotionally invested in the colours but I do get what you are saying about toning the green down....it is a lot of background work to change but I'll definitely consider doing it- I don't want to overwhelm. I also LOVE your suggestion about categorizing the photos- I was thinking that once I develop more product I'd create subpages with galleries for each category (i.e. hair accessories, boutonnieres, paper products) what do you think?
Jen- also really appreciate the feedback. I'm glad you like the scrolling photos. Also, there is a location (the music player at the bottom of the page) to turn the music off or pause it- perhaps I should put it in a more visible location. I am aware of the problem on the first page- I can't figure out how to code for it so for now I have to hope people persist and click on the photo. Finally, which version of Internet Explorer, or what web browser are you using?

That's exactly what I was thinking. Just an easier way for folks to find what they're looking for.
I just loaded it and your splash icon is very small and located in the top left corner of the page. I don't know if you're working on it as we speak, but it's clearly not how it's supposed to be. If you're not working on it right now, you may want to investigate this! I'm on a Mac, as well - sometimes, that makes a difference.

2. your "about" section is too long, I've condensed it a bit, to what I think are the essentials. ?I don't think you need all the personal information about your planning here, and it looks like your wedding theme is your website theme, which I'd avoid being blatant about if you can help. ?(Though it's all cute!)

Thank so much for that. I agree with everything you said. I'm not sure about the visual issue or even the speed of loading- I use a PC and don't have a mac & the flash site that I'm using is supposed to be compatible with all operating systems & internet browsers....I'll have to explore- although I've almost used up the extent of my technical knowledge
I'm going to make edits to the text later- thanks for the suggestion. It is hard to emotionally remove myself from the business/project so I can see how I went a bit overboard.

It loads for me very quickly as well on my IE and my co-workers Mac loads it fine too...I'm not sure this is outside of my scope of understanding!! Oh well, I made some edits to wording & will try to figure out how to lessen the intensity of the green
