---- Malia and Sandy ----

hey i've been meaning to tell you both.....thanks so much for the tip about the washcloth/bath thing-y :) i've been using a large prefold cloth diaper on her ever since you brought that up and bath time has been sooooo different!! she loves it now and doesn't cry a bit! it's a night and day different once she has the warm cloth on her chest!!

now, if only someone had a good tip for me as to how I can get her dressed after the bath w/o wailing? even if she is dry and warm she cries b/c she hates getting dressed/undressed.......

Re: ---- Malia and Sandy ----

  • **butting in** I'm sure you thought of this, but thought I'd toss the idea out there...sing to her. Ashton used to wail as well until I started singing to him while getting him dressed..now he laughs at me...I make up songs about how I am dressing him, etc.

  • you're welcome!  so glad it helped!!  I figured you could just use a hand towel or something like the but I never would have even thought about using it had my coworker not bought it for me!  mine isn't a fan of the getting dressed/undressed thing either though... maybe i'll try the singing thing!

thanks Renee! I've tried talking to her in a loud happy voice but I hadn't thought of singing to her...I'll have to try that :)

  • Oh yay! I'm so glad it helped. I agree with Renee, singing to her might really help. I have been taking a music class and learning a lot of songs and she lights up like nothing when I start singing to her!

Another idea... I use TWO towels when I give her a bath. The towel I wrap her in when I take her out of the tub gets really wet and then she is in a wet towel and cries. So I take her out of the tub in one towel (that then gets wet) and lie her down on another dry towel, which I use to wrap her up and carry her in to her room.

She does fuss when I dress her, but I've started to use lotion and give her a little massage before dressing her, which helps.

Anyway, glad you are enjoying bath time a little more! HTH!
