Churches that marry non-members

Hey ladies! My friend is in need of a church for her wedding. She is hoping to find one in Colerain/Fairfield/Forest Park, but any recs you can give me would be great! TIA!

Re: Churches that marry non-members

  • I'm assuming they're not a member anywhere?  We got married at Clifton UMC.  We weren't the member of any church at the time and we could have even used a non-UMC minister.  I would tell your friend to look at Methodist churches and the more liberal Lutheran & Presbyterian denominations.  I think Garden Park Unity in Grosebeck will take them too.  She could also look for a Unitarian or United Church of Christ (not regular Church of Christ) church (there are a couple that I know of who will take them, again in Clifton).  Norman Chapel at Spring Grove is non-denominational but she'd need to bring her minister, justice of the peace, etc.

  • Does she want to bring her own minister or use one at the place?

    .

  • If they are willing to go up to Oxford (where Miami University is), Cobblestone Community Church is an option.  They can go to www.cobblestonechurch.com for information (I believe they would click on the link that says "Ministries") or email the wedding coordinator at weddings@cobblestonechurch.com.  HTH
  • Not in the location you want, but Madison Ave. Christian church in Covington.  Gorgeous church, too!
  • I got married at the Tri-County Vineyard (and was a non-member)... loved it and it's in a great location. The only thing is that you are required to attend their premarital counseling classes, which I would reccommend anyways!
