Are Uggs really worth the money?

I need some new brown boots and have my eye on a pair of Uggs. But Man, They are pricey!

I don't mind if they really hold up well, and are warm and comfortable though.

Any other suggestions?

My BIL bought me some brown shearling sheepskin boots for Christmas. They are similar to Uggs but without the namebrand. I think they are like $30 or $40 at Costco. I always thought Uggs were hideous and refused to buy them but since these were a gift I gave them a go. They were sooooo warm and comfy I didn't want to take them off my feet! I still don't think they're all that cute but I definitely see why people wear them now lol .

Sam's has some knockoffs too. I bought dh a pair of LL Bean sheepskin slippers a couple of years ago. They are so warm and toasty but they'd be destroyed in the snow. They have a sole on them but they don't keep out the moisture, not even dew on the grass. Not sure if Uggs are more waterproof or not though. LL Bean does sell their version of Uggs & they have a pretty liberal return policy if you don't like them.

I have these Steve Madden sweater boots and they are SO warm and comfy! My momma gave them to me for Christmas and I love them.

I have 2 pairs of uggs and really like them. You have to treat the leather, but the still are not 100% water proof. I wore them all last week and didn't have a problem. They are crazy warm and comfy. I also hate socks which is why they are good too!

DH got me a pair of ULU's last year for Christmas. I LOVE them. I don't know how they compair to Uggs, but they held up great last winter and so far so good this winter! I've been taking the dog out for walks in this freezing weather and my tooties have been nice and warm!

my MIL just got a pair for her birthday and she hasn't taken them off her feet since!

She got the ones with arch support, because she has serious issues with her feet/arches. She said they are the best boots she's ever had.

I have owned the EMU boots and now have the Uggs and they are worth every penny. They are warm, supportive and keep my feel cozy in the snow. I think they are worth it.

I have a pair of Uggs and feel they are worth every penny. They are so warm and cozy. They aren't 100% water proof so it depends if you want comfort or serve a purpose

FYI - if you do get Uggs... try getting a size smaller than your shoe size... they can stretch up to a full size.

Ditto on costco. I got a pair for this winter $38 (the medium length) They also have tall. Dont get the foam bottom (they wont last as long and will bend easily)-I have the rubber thick sole ones, they are durable and very comfortable. Also, make sure to stain proof them a few times before you wear them!

eta* I forgot to mention about sizing- I usually wear a 9.5 or 10. They dont come in half sizes...I sized down b/c I had read reviews on how much these costco ones stretch out- which they do! I ended up with a size 9..and they are very roomy!

EMU's are on Amazon at 60% today only (its the deal of the day). I think they are just as nice and they are only $50 today...
