smash & grab break-in
Dh's truck got broken into when he was out to lunch today. They took $3500 worth of home and work computers equipment and phones. Ugh. They did leave the gps, portfolio, and handgun behind though. The worst part is that dh had his new 401k papers in the laptop bag so now the thugs have our ssn and bank info. Fvck!
The stuff can be replaced but my god...they broke into it in a busy parking lot of a restaurant a block from his office...in broad daylight. The bag was covered with a blanket and behind tinted windows.

Re: smash & grab break-in
YIKES! Thats Super sucky! I would notify all financial type places ASAP!
Is his truck marked with a sign or something that would indicate lots of computer equipment inside? Like a business name or something?
Oh, I'm sorry! This just happened to my brother a few weeks ago. He's in the Navy, and his ship has been in dry dock so he's been having to park off base while he's working. Somebody ripped out his ENTIRE dash and took his stereo and gps... Then took his backpack which had all kinds of stuff in it too. He was getting ready to come home for leave for New Years and this happend : ( Just FYI that we found out and didn't know... All of his personal items were covered under my parent's Homeowners insurance and we just had to get together a list of everything and receipts for them and he got a check in less than a week. Gotta love State Farm!
I hope that you're able to get all of your accounts frozen/changed. Keep an eye on your SSNs to make sure there's no fraud on that. Hopefully your insurance will help you guys out! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you guys sweetie, I know how stressful this can be! ::hugs::

Oh that just really STINKS!!! I hope you guys are safe w your info and someone finds whoever did this!
So sorry!!!
They left the handgun behind???
Amateurs. That was worth the most money on the street.
Get the truck fingerprinted. I bet these are teenagers.
I'm so sorry that this happened. My husband's car has been broken into twice. The first time they stole his iPod and broken stereo face. The second time they took cologne and an empty toolbox (but left the drill!). We had his car finger printed.
It may not lead to an immediate arrest, but if they strike again...it makes their life worse.
That's what I was thinking...
that really sucks!! I hope your accounts remain safe!
