Let 'em rip, ladies!

I went to school with M. M & I lost touch, even though we were decent friends thoroughout HS and even afterward. (Her mom was C.R.A.Z.Y. and I finally couldn't cope with it when I was afraid to give her a ride home for fear her mom, who didn't like me, would greet me with a shotgun...she's THAT effed up!) We lost touch when I moved to England and "reconnected" ~1 1/2 ago thanks to MySpace/Facebook. We went to her wedding and then had her and her new hubby over for dinner one night before he was deployed.
He just got home from his tour of duty. I have TREMENDOUS respect for men and women who serve and protect our country, but this guy is really one of those guys that is immature, loud, and obnoxious. Together, they're a young, immature couple and you can see it (when we had them over for dinner, it was awkward and I nearly hurt him once or twice.)
I really want to do the right thing and offer to meet up for dinner, have them over for dinner, take them out to dinner, or offer assistance for food for a welcome home party. But knowing how immature and obnoxious he can be is holding me back. LOL
(Of course, she did explain that he has NO other couple friends our age. All of them are Army boys (one or two are engaged/married), but fairly young ones at that. I think the oldest is ~22-23?)
Re: TGIF - Confessions
Paula: Have you seen him since he got back from overseas yet? I know that really changes people sometimes so he may not be *as* bad as he was now....or he could be worse....

I have worked 50 hours already this week (in four days). Today will probably be another 10+ hour day and I will likely have to put in at least a few hours on Saturday. MH is off today and Monday because the courthouses are closed. I'm jealous that he has a four day weekend and I have to be here working my butt off. BUT he did say he was going to come and get my car in a couple of hours and wash it for me so I'm pretty happy about that!

My friend I mentioned last week (or was it the week before?) who wants me to move to Richmond and have babies wants me and MH to come visit her and her husband. I have no desire to go. So I've put it off by saying the anniversary of the car crash is coming up and we need to be here for MH's mom. That's true, but if we really wanted to, we could get there fairly easily for a day or two. I just don't want to go.
This is what I was hoping... for the better.
At the same time, I can already picture him being just like he was when we had him over to our house. (No joke, first time he'd been to our house, he tried to take over in MY kitchen making something he'd never made before and had no idea what he was doing.)
On the friend topic
My best friend pre-highschool moved first year of high school and we lost touch after about a year of her being gone. Neither of us could drive and she lived 1.5hrs away so going to visit was hard. We were unseparable. I would stay at her house for weeks at a time. I even called her mom "mom". Anyways I'd been trying to find her on facebook or myspace and couldn't. I finally found out they live in NC now. Her mom's number is listed and I've thought about calling. I even got the nerve to call once and got an answering machine. It was the type that is an automated voice so I didn't leave a message. I haven't called since because I'm afraid they will think I'm crazy tracking them down. It's been 10 years since I've seen her.
MH made my night last night. (Get your minds out of the gutter! LOL)
He asked me to help him email someone the link to my blog.
A) I totally love it when he asks me to help him with anything computer related. It's rare because he'll usually struggle with it (he's good with the technical side; I'm good with the software side.)
C) After emailing the link to the guy, he sat and read my most current post and I could hear him laughing from the bathroom where I was washing my face. It pleased me A LOT to know he likes my posts... he's been very supportive of me taking the time TO blog, but hasn't really shown much interest in the blog itself. He made some comments afterward that made me
in a good way about my writing/voice and the pictures.
My cw got really screwed over by a guy, twice actually and she has been really down and kind of dwelling on it. I told her if it would make her feel better I would take a pregnancy test and we could send it to him with a just a note that says "it yours".
Last night I asked MH if he could start my laundry before i got home from work. Then I was doing somehting and asked him if he could go change it over. Then I asked him if he could go get it and carry it upstairs because it was too heavy for me (it really wasn't) so basically he did my laundry without really realizing it.
That would be priceless!
OMG Jo that is hilarious. You have to do it.
I love you all the more for even coming up with this idea - LOVE IT.
You have to try this Paula, they don't even really know they are doing you a favor!
Ooops - I meant I love you for the pg test and guess I quoted the wrong one. LOL (Greg already does 95% of the laundry.)
No way - it's effing hilarious!
When I was a teenager, I totally blew up at my family to stop calling me PK (my nickname as a kid.) I've regretted it for years and nearly just signed an email to my brother as PK.
So I've been doing lots of exercising, mainly at home but when I go to the rec center I see all these people with ipods and it makes me want one. I try to take a book to read while doing the bike or elliptical but it's hard to read as you are moving (the eliptical more so than the bike).
If you get an iPod - get a nano. They are MUCH easier to use while working out. I had a larger iPod and it frustrated me because there was no easy way to attach it to myself while I was running. The nanos have great armbands. I love my nano.
I agree with Mandy, I usually watch TV when I am on the treadmill or elliptical but when I run I use my nano.
I'm an oddball, but just keep in mind that an MP3 player doesn't HAVE to be an apple. MH and I both have Samsung Sansas and love them. We even got a similar (smaller memory) for his mom when she asked for an MP3 player. And MP3 players (non-Apple) are VERY reasonable these days.
