Re: Friday Confessions

  • Oooooh I LOVE that picture Nicole!  So classic!  Juicy confessions....I don't have anything juicy.....my MIL bought me an ugly outfit for my birthday and I am taking it back to exchange for a fireplace tool set.....and I'm not telling her.  Now that's juicy....  Surprise
  • Okay, here's juicy for you. (And remember, you asked!)

    Embarrassed

Since DH and I got Pugsly, things have been kind awkward in the bedroom.  She's alone all day and loves to be around people, so I feel weird about shutting her out of the bedroom,  and well.. having her in the room with us is just weird.  Amusing... horrifying... awkward... lol, weird.

This is going to take some getting used to!

  • I confess that I snapped at my evil aunt at my Uncle's funeral.  oops! I said that if I kept my mouth shut I'd stay out of trouble.  umm, forgot that one.  She needs a filter between her brain and her mouth and I sorta let her know that one.  Stick out tongue
  • My Friday confession: I finally broke down and bought skinny jeans, which I am wearing today... and I am really not sure I'm pulling it off. Yikes! Embarrassed

And Nicole, that picture is incredible!

I did something similar, although not quite as bad. Stick out tongue DH's grandmother gave me the ugliest scarf you've ever ever seen for Christmas.  Like, I had a really hard time coming up with a "grateful" face.  Last week I decided I just couldn't look at it anymore and gave it to Goodwill so they can find someone with equally bad taste.

I further confess that even though I have not had my lunch yet, I broke into the office bag of chocolate.

    Was she the widow???

  • Not very juicy either but yesterday an old friend of mine was in town just for the day for a meeting and she wanted to meet up for coffee and to give me our belated wedding gift. Well when I got home I had to do some google research to figure out what it was so I could give her a decent thank you (at least I didn't have to open it in front of her, I am terrible about hiding what I am thinking - people can totally read my face)
  • I confess that the bread pudding I made last night for dinner with the ILs is still sitting in my fridge although I promised DH I would bring it in to work so we wouldn't be fatties.

BAHAHAHA!  This made me LOL....  I know exactly how you feel!  One time we were...you know....and we put Gracie out of the bedroom and closed the door.  Well I guess we didn't shut the door all the way and then Tim was like "What the....." and Gracie was up on the bed (we didn't even notice) and started licking Tim's back then barking and was all worried that Tim was "hurting" me....we just started busting up laughing.....

  • Thanks for the compliment on the photo, girls!

My confession... I haven't spoke to my maid of honor since our wedding.  She acted really inappropriately at the reception- including using the F word in her speech.  Her boyfriend took off with her car and left her at the reception because she was grinding on other guys on the dance floor.  She had to ride in the limo with my husband and I back to the hotel and stay the night in one of the groomsmen's hotel rooms.  I wrote her an email to explain how all of this made me feel and she hasn't responded.

LOL, luckily, Pugsly can't get up on the bed. But she does stand on her high legs (like a Prairie Dog) and give us a very "What-on-earth-are-you-doing" look.

That's too bad.  Was alcohol involved?

One of my bridesmaids doesn't handle her alcohol well and was throwing herself at pretty much any guy she could get her hands on.  Needless to say, her husband was not pleased.

  • From Karen:  Was she the widow???

Nope - not the widow.  Just a pain the patootie.

  • OMG that is so funny about the dogs!!! Our dog isn't allowed in our bedroom (I have horrible allergies and when I get dog hair on my pillow its just not good) so he is used to us going in there and shutting the door but he is always waiting for us on the other side of the baby gate when we open the door to come out, which is a bit weird haha.

She used the F bomb in her speech?  Which one was your MOH?  The blonde?

She used the F bomb in her speech?  Which one was your MOH?  The blonde?

Yes, my MOH (the blonde) dropped an F bomb in her speech.  Now, I use that word in my everyday speech but there is definitely a time and place for the F word.  And in your MOH speech is not one of them.

  • Awww too bad, she's a cute girl.  That had to be embarassing (spell that right?) in front of your family.  There's a time and a place.....not the time or place.

I'm sad to say that our friendship may be ruined.  I sent her an email to explain my feelings over a month ago and she hasn't responded.  Not sure what she's feeling but as my friend I thought I should be honest with her.

  • Have you tried calling her or meeting up with her to talk about it in person?  It still may not work out, but at least you can see her reaction in person.  maybe she doesn't deal with conflict very well and she doesn't know what to say.  Or she just doesn't care, that's why you should meet with her in person.  Get the truth.  I had a "tiif" with one of my BMs before the wedding and met up with her and she basically just didn't care and got really "aggressive" with me....so she was fired....
  • AND your picture reminds me of Grace Kelly.....
  • I confess that I am sick of people calling DH gay because he likes Glee and Project Runway. I was about to post a ranting FB status (where the name-calling went down), but stopped myself.

    a) I am an advocate for gay rights and am severely opposed to using any term that refers to a gay person as an insult.

    b) DH is not gay and I have plenty of gay friends from HS and college who were into theater and/or clothes/art who were not gay either.

    c) the notion that any man who has an inkling of interest in theater or clothing is gay is beyond ridiculous.

    d) I LOVE that my man enjoys the things that I enjoy/supports my interest in them. I support his interest in drift racing and MMA, does that make me a lesbian?

    UGH. Rant over.

I know I should call her and set something up but I am still really mad about it and want her to respond to my email.  I thought she was the one girlfriend I could explain my feelings to.  I am stubborn and need to get over it.

Yes, she was drunk at the reception.  I am still so mad about that.  Maybe I am being selfish but I really wish she would have been there more for me on the wedding day.  I needed her.

You did the right thing. I would have had to be honest with my friend too, or we could never interact the same way again. I hope she gets over it and realizes that she embarassed herself and the two of you can get past it. Sadly, she just may not want to address it so that she doesn't have to face what she's done.

Yeah, I was thinking "shame/embarrassment" more than "apathy."  I don't know if it helps to think of it that way.

  • I confess that I ate 10.5 glazed donuts today in a donut challenge and told everyone that I felt fine even though I ate so much and still lost (goal was to eat a dozen in an hour---the guys I was competing against ate his in 18 minutes).

Mentally I am fine. Physically I feel disgusting.

  • I also confess that I'm sitting at work with absolutely zero motivation to do anything productive because I'm going out of town when I am done.  It is making me antsy and I just want to GO.
