BR: Hats/Headbands for Newborns

Since we're Team Green, everything we have is gender neutral. When we bring baby home, I want him/her to have a cute hat or headband that's unmistakeably boyish or girlish.

Any recommendations for online shops (Etsy or elsewhere) where I can find cute and affordable newborn headgear for both boys and girls?

I can't wait until we find out which one the little one will be wearing home!

I had the same question as you earlier and found a lot of cute stuff on Etsy but I always wanted to learn how to make one myself, so I did that instead. Part of it was investment: these cute hats go up to $25 before shipping on Etsy and a $2 bundle (is that the right word to use yarn?) of yarn can make two baby hats. But I also thought it would be really meaningful and rewarding to hand-make my own son's hats. So I never crocheted or knitted in my life but I watched some YouTube videos, invested $12 in a set of crochet needles of various sizes and followed this blog: http://crochet-mania.blogspot.com/2008/06/single-crochet-baby-beanie-cap.html and made my first hat in 3 days. The first day consisted of starting and unraveling beanie over and over again because I didn't like how it was turning out since my stitches were uneven since I was learning to crochet for the first time. After doing that a dozen times, I finally got through one and I liked how it turned out! I can't wait to make more! If you like crafts, you may want to consider giving a shot at it too

I crocheted with my grandma as a kid, but I really don't think I could pull off a hat! There are some really cute hat patterns for sale on Etsy, too:

OR you could always buy a few of those crocheted headbands at macy's ( I think my mom bought a set of 5 for like $7) and buy a flower from Claire's or Icing. That's what we did with Jaylee's headband in my siggy. That way you have a few different color head dbands to choose from, depending on what matches with her coming home outfit ( and yes I am saying your having a girl... I just have this feeling)
