So I saw you are originally from Long Island... so am I! And I get SO excited to "meet" other peeps from the island! LOL What part are you from? I'm from Port Jefferson, but we moved when I was a kid and grew up outside of DC. I call both my home though because we were always back and forth visiting family.

Fun! Not many of us LIers in Texas.
I'm from Farmingdale. Moved here about 4 years ago (wow. 4 years ago February 1st. Crazy). I had a couple of friends that lived here, and I just wanted to live some place else for awhile. I knew I couldn't afford NYC at the time (uhh, still can't lol) and figured there was no time like the present to move to TX. Little did I know that I'd meet DH, buy a house, get married...the works. 
I just went back for Christmas, and will likely go back in the spring (my sister is having another baby).
I take it that since you moved when you were young, you don't have any traces of a LawnguyIsland accent? I think mine is pretty much gone, but every once in awhile I slip. Old habits die hard, I guess!
