I'm donating money through the Red Cross. I think I'm jaded after Katrina but only about issues here in LA. I feel completely different about what's going on in Haiti. Here our nation had the resourses (never mind how they used them) to rescue people and help them put their live back together. Haiti on the other hand is one of the poorest countries in the world and on their own there is little they can do to help the people who live there.
I'll probably pick up some toiletry items next time I'm at the store to send.
When "they" say this is 100x worse than Katrina, are they taking about human life? Or are they generally comparing the 2?
I have 3 classmates with family in Haiti. 2 have heard from almost everyone. 1 hasn't heard from anyone.
