I have to do a lot of reading for work, so I enjoy reading for pleasure. My local library has been a great! I've been borrowing books like crazy!
Right now, I'm reading:
It's amazing the secrets and confessions people send to this guy on a post card.
2. Quote This! A Collection of Illustrated Quotes for Educators by Diane Hodges.
This is a cool book! I love quotes. They inspire me. This book is a collection of them! Here are two:
"Waiting until everything is perfect before making a move is like waiting to start a trip until all the traffic lights are green." -Karen Ireland
"The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires." -William Arthur Ward
Re: What book are you reading now?
I'm reading Case Histories by Kate Atkinson. I read another of hers, When Will There Be Good News?, and liked it so I decided to read her earlier books too. I really like the way she writes.
Before this one, I got a Kindle for Christmas and downloaded The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and The Girl Who Played With Fire. I'm still not sure what I thought about those! I like the characters' running storylines, but parts of the mysteries they get wrapped up in are aggravating.
I'm just starting to read this now as well along with Stop Worrying and Start Living by Dale Carnegie, but my next read will be Where Or When by Anita Shreve.

I read these last fall and thought the same thing! But they really did keep me entertained.
Interesting I was wondering if I should add those to my book list. You will both have to give me more details!
I just finished The Help by Kathryn Stockett and LOVED it.
I'm just starting Michelangelo and The Sistine Chapel (preparing for my Rome trip) about how he never wanted to paint it, how he did it, and the effect that it had on his body and his life. I figured it'd give me a greater appreciation when I see it next month.
The other one I'm starting is The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollard. I am intrigued by how horribly processed our food is and am trying hard to keep corn, white flour, white sugar, margarine, and high fructose corn syrup out of my diet. It's amazing to me how much crap (and petroleum!!!) is in pur processed food.
I'm still working on The Other Boleyn Girl, which I started months ago. It's much more interesting after actually going to London and hearing about Anne Boleyn.
Question for you ladies...do you set aside time to read every day? I tend to go through phases where I'm just not in the mood to read. I actually don't think I've finished a book since April on our trip to Japan. And before that it was the last Harry Potter (in 2007? Yikes!).
Yes and no. I'm a huge reader - always have been - so I don't really feel the need to schedule time for it, since I always want to do it. However, I always read during my lunch break at work, and when I'm in bed at night before falling asleep (I just can't relax unless I've read a couple of chapters!). So I suppose in a way I do have dedicated reading times, but otherwise, I just pick up a book whenever I feel like it, which is always at least once a day (in addition to lunch and bedtime).
I'm reading this now and really like it.
sanae - I read every night before bed just to kind of clear my head some.
All - my favorite book that I read in 2009 was "Little Bee" by Chris Cleave. I highly recommend it!
I'm reading the Hapiness Project ... and really enjoying it so far. Of course I'm only on the second chapter. . . . but it's really good
