Cloth diaper question for moms of 2 or more
I feel bad asking this here and not on the baby board, so I do apologize for that.
DC#2 is due in a couple months and I am just wondering if those who cd use 2 diaper pails. Currently we change DS in his bedroom and his pail is in there. We are starting potty training, although I am thinking its going to take him a while to get it.
We have a second change table that is in the new baby's room, so it might make sense to get a second pail? My stash is a combo of fitteds, prefolds and one sized, so for the most part the kids diapers will be separated when clean.
Re: Cloth diaper question for moms of 2 or more
I'm trying to figure this out too. I change Ruari downstairs in the livingroom, and have our diaper bin in our powder room (which is right beside the laundry area). I very rarely change her upstairs, and if I do, I just carry the diaper downstairs. I'm not too sure how that's going to work with a wee one though...I know we'll be going through a lot more diapers. I'm just going to see how it goes. I have a second bin upstairs in a closet, so I'll pull that out if I think I need it.
May I ask why you are planning on washing them separately?? We use Fuzzi Bunz with hemp inserts for Ru, and have Kissaluvs for the babe...I was just going to wash them together. Is that ok??
when it was just Noah, I only had 18 FuzziBunz, but when Jeremy came along I added 15 Kushies til he was 4 months old, then replaced those with 12 BG 3.0 Organic, and 4 regular BG 3.0. so our stash is at 34 diapers now.
even when it was just N, we always just brought the diaper to the laundry room. bc we have so many more, the pail we used won't hold that many, so we just have 2 pails now (old pails with lids, not store bought "diaper" pails). I don't think I've changed Jeremy on the "changetable" more than 6 times in his 6 months - always on the floor/bed, etc.
Bc I'm ECg Jeremy, I change his diaper whenever its wet, so we go through them quick, and Noah only wears a diaper at night and nap - so Noah takes 4 of them in the 2 days between washes.
we wash them all together.
Ok....I'm glad I wasn't missing something with washing them separately. I will probably stick to one bin to start just so that I don't forget to wash diapers (I could totally see throwing on a load and realizing that there's a whole pail upstairs!).
I just have a flip lid garbage can in my powder room downstairs.
